Book Introduction

“If there is a gospel, there is hope for our community!”

The dynamic of restoration in the gospel

It truly transforms not only individuals but also communities.

From me to us
A parenting textbook that grows in influence every day.

We were created for community.

We are redeemed for the community.

And we are transformed within the community.

The deep longing of Christians is
It is only accomplished in a gospel-centered community.

The longing for community is rooted in God.
The Trinity is a relational being.
And we were created in his image.
How does being created in God's image provide the foundation for community? How did the Fall destroy community? How does redemption in Christ empower community to be renewed? How does community become a site of ongoing transformation? God, in His mercy, uses community to expose our sin and invite us to believe the gospel.
The gospel deeply transforms our attitudes, motivations, words, and actions.
Through this gospel-passionate study, we will explore the theme of community within the narrative of creation, fall, redemption, and restoration, establishing a biblical foundation for the gospel and community.
Insightful and resilient reading materials and activities will help us radically apply God's grace and love in our lives, and help us dream and live a "gospel-centered community."

Publisher's Review
"Gospel-Centered Community" was designed to introduce the impact of the renewing dynamic of the Gospel on community life.
No other materials are needed to conduct the meeting other than this textbook.
Each learner must bring their own textbook and attend the meeting.
After the meeting, each person will have more application in their lives, but there is no need to prepare supplementary lessons.
Through this process, you may hope for the following changes:

· Your understanding of the gospel will deepen and expand.
· You will long for a gospel-centered community.

· You will be led and challenged to build a truly gospel-centered community.

▶ Examining Our Thinking About Relationships

We assume that the relationships in our lives revolve around us and exist for us.

But the truth is that God is the center of everything.

So, ultimately, every relationship in my life is about God.

So what happens when I'm in the center?

· All conflicts lead to the polarization of 'me vs. you.'

"I'm the center anyway! I deserve respect, so why don't you respect me?
“We both need to change, but you need to change more than I do.”

· I calculate relationships economically.

Anything I dislike is something that 'consumes' my money, my demands, my time and my energy.
Because I am pushed out of the center.

· I finally get what I truly want (meaning, significance, security, productivity).
It uses other people (both God and humans).

On the other hand, what happens when God is at the center?

· Every conflict is an opportunity for evangelical growth.

When relationships are difficult or something goes wrong, we tend to think, "Things are not going well."

But if this is part of God's plan of salvation, then conflict is actually a sign of God's love.

If you are currently dealing with someone who is giving you a hard time or you are in an awkward situation,
Take heart! This means God loves you!

· I learned how to think about human relationships in the grace of God.

Everything I didn't want happened by the grace of God and the power of the Holy Spirit.
It became an opportunity to love my neighbor as myself.

Because God loved me so much that he sent his Son (1 John 4:10),
I can give without expecting anything in return (Luke 6:35).

· I can truly love others instead of using them.

Because they are not a means to an end.
God is the purpose.

I am content in Him and can reflect His grace and goodness to others.
