Why is this room being created?
Why is this room being created?
Description
Book Introduction
"I prepared the world for you to be born"
A sentimental picture book that tells the story of creation through a father's love.
The story of creation told in the language of love, not theology.
A fairy tale about faith passed down through fathers and children

A unique perspective that reinterprets creation as 'preparation for love', juxtaposing the creation of heaven and earth in Genesis 1-2 with the week a father spends decorating a room for his unborn baby, interpreting God's creation as 'preparation to welcome a beloved being'.

The first creation fairy tale written from a father's perspective. Unlike most faith fairy tales that are told from the perspective of a mother or a neutral narrator, this book is written in a format where a father tells it directly to his child, offering new possibilities for fathers to pass on their faith.

Beyond theological and scientific debates, this emotional storytelling, the conflict between creationism and science, and the universal emotion of "being prepared and waiting" instead of doctrinal explanations, unfolds into a story that all generations can relate to.

Into the book
“There must be light.”
The man strode into the room and pulled back the curtain covering the window.

A lot of light poured into the room, and the darkness disappeared in an instant.
--- p.14

The man walked into the room holding a vacuum cleaner.
Clouds of dust rose violently like the flames of a dragon, but the man handled them with skillful skill.
--- p.19

After much thought, I found a pretty lamp that was neither too bright nor too dark.
This light will illuminate the room like the sun during the day, even on a dark night.

--- p.29

The man wanted to scream with excitement, but he suppressed his voice for fear of startling the baby.
“Isn’t this the perfect room?” This is the story of the sixth day.
--- p.36

“This one looks like me! This one looks like you.”
We even had a very serious discussion.
It was the happiest day off in the world.
--- p.39

Publisher's Review
Genesis 1 and 2 combined into a single narrative
The epilogue reinterprets the two creation stories, often interpreted separately, as "essentially one love story," simultaneously containing theological depth and literary sensibility.

AI-based watercolor emotional illustration
The warm and lyrical watercolor-style illustrations, utilizing Midjourney, perfectly harmonize with the text, enhancing visual immersion.

Optimized for home worship, church education, and gifting
The structure of each day is clear, making it ideal for use as a home worship resource, and it is also suitable as a gift for a baby or first birthday, or for a church nursery or elementary school.

Provide topics to share with your child
After reading a fairy tale to a child, topics are provided for each family to share stories that are relevant to their situation, and the program is designed to go beyond simple reading and foster intergenerational faith empathy.

From the author's words

“I believe that religious education begins with experience, not knowledge.
This book attempts to reinterpret the story of creation from a father's perspective, with a loving perspective.
I wanted to understand and convey God's creation through the process of a father decorating a room while waiting for his baby to be born, showing how the very act of 'preparing' something is an expression of deep love.
I hope this will be a legacy of faith that fathers can share with their children."

Why I wrote this book

With fathers who want to pass on their legacy of faith…

I often talk to my children about living a good life.
When I talk about what purpose we should live for, sometimes fear creeps in. Are my children's eyes focused on the destination I'm talking about? Or are they focused on my own inadequate life, striving toward that destination?
"Is that place you're talking about really worth dedicating your life to? If so, why aren't you working so hard for it?"
I fear that my children will now ask me the same bold questions I asked my elders in the faith when I was young.
I'm still far from being the answer.
The children are already approaching their teenage years.
Before you get discouraged by my swaying and falling, I wrote this story in the hopes that you would see my destination, which I never lose sight of even as I waver.
If my children one day recall the one truth I tried to convey to them, I hope it will be this: the truth that the infinite God wanted to convey to us: "How much God loves us."
