The Little Way of the Saint
Description
Book Introduction
Finding holiness in small everyday actions
The Little Way of Saint Teresa of Calvary
In today's rapidly changing world, many people are losing their peace of mind as they become absorbed in constant competition and the pursuit of material abundance.
In the process, as we ponder what true happiness is, we come to the realization that we must simply move towards God.
But what can we do in a life where we cannot see even an inch ahead?
The life of Saint Teresa of Calcutta shows us that true happiness comes when we acknowledge our own shortcomings and weaknesses and entrust ourselves to God just as we are.
"The Little Way of the Saint" is a book that contains the values of life that Saint Teresa of Calcutta considered important.
The 'little way', which is the core of the saint's spiritual life, emphasizes the attitude of doing small things in daily life with love and trusting in God's infinite love and grace.
Through this, we can realize the beauty of living a simple and humble life, finding small happiness and walking with God, rather than striving for grand success or special achievements.

Into the book
Oh, they don't know the true nature of wildflowers.
If they knew Jesus, they would understand better what he said to Martha.
He whom we love does not need our outstanding achievements or our lofty reflections.
If Jesus seeks such lofty things, doesn't he already have angels by his side, possessing knowledge infinitely superior to any of the world's most brilliant geniuses? He doesn't come to us seeking any knowledge or talent.
Jesus became a wildflower to show us how much he loves simplicity.
--- From "Little Dewdrops"
To whom should our humble hearts offer this love? And who is worthy of this treasure? Who can understand this love, and above all, who can repay it? Only Jesus can understand this love.
Only He can give it all back.
He can repay us infinitely more than the maximum amount of love we can give.
--- From "Simple and Perfect Words"
I will sprinkle flowers.
Unless I scatter these petals before you, I will gain nothing.
I will sing.
Even though my rose is buried among thorns, it will always sing.
The bigger and sharper the thorns, the sweeter my song will be.
--- From "Song"
I know that true charity consists in bearing with all the faults of my neighbor.
Rather than being amazed by their flaws, learn from their little strengths.
--- From "True Compassion"
We must start by practicing small virtues.
Although this is sometimes difficult, God never denies us the first grace of courage for self-overcoming.
If a soul responds to that grace, it will immediately know that it is in the light of God.
--- From "Small Virtues"
When I am in a state of spiritual dryness, unable to pray or practice virtue, I look for small opportunities, seemingly insignificant things, that can please my Jesus.
For example, when I want to be silent and feel bored, I try to smile and say something considerate.
If I don't even have that opportunity, I at least keep telling Jesus that I love Him.
--- From "Faith"
When the twilight of my life approaches, I will stand before you empty-handed.
God, I will not ask you to give an account of what I have done.
All our righteous deeds are but blemishes in your eyes.
Therefore, I desire to be adorned with your righteousness and receive from your love the eternal gift of yourself.
I desire no throne, no crown, but you alone! O my love!

Publisher's Review
Walking with love and trust toward God
The Saint's Journey of Faith
The Little Way of the Saint is a book that compiles key messages from Saint Teresa of the Little Flower, her autobiography, poems, and letters.
During her short life of 24 years, the saint devoted herself entirely to prayer and sacrifice, trusting in God, and was canonized in an unusually short period of time.
Pope Francis said that the teachings of Saint Teresa of Assisi allow us to rediscover the importance of simplicity, love and trust in today's complex society, and that anyone can walk this "little way."
This book is designed to help readers easily access the teachings of Saint Teresa of Calcutta.
Chapter 1, “Walking the Small Path,” illuminates the core of the saint’s life and spirituality through keywords such as “small path,” “calling,” “the power of prayer,” “spiritual life,” “empty hands,” and “wish.”
Also, Chapter 2, 'The Heart of a Small Flower', contains short but profound sentences that provide comfort and inspiration to readers who are tired of life.
The teachings of Saint Teresa of Calvary serve as a guide to help us continue our small acts of love and follow God with a humble heart.
This is because he personally demonstrates that only when we acknowledge our own shortcomings and weaknesses and entrust everything to God can we experience true joy and peace.
Saint Teresa of Calcutta said:
“For me, becoming great is next to impossible.
Because I carry the burden of being a flawed person.
But I will find a small path to reach heaven.” Just as the saint said, we too must take the ‘small path’ to reach God.
This path is very small and narrow, but the life of Saint Teresa of Calcutta will be a light that shows us this path.
The way we can enter through the eye of a needle is to become small before Him, like the dust from which we were born.
It's hard for a camel, but dust can easily pass through the eye of a needle.
And this is the spirituality of the 'little flower' and the 'little way' that Saint Teresa of Calvary teaches us.
