God is too difficult
Description
Book Introduction
“God, I have so many questions.”
“Sometimes I move away and fall down,
And in doing so, you get to know God more.
It'll probably take a long time.
“Mom and Dad are still walking.”
This is a great comic essay for children and their guardians to read together as they begin to ask questions about their faith.
There are questions that can be asked from a child's perspective, with pure gaze and thought.
Anyone who has raised a child will have experienced that this question sometimes cuts to the heart of faith.
Author Song Mi-hyeon, who majored in theology, also faced such questions while raising a child, and based on her child's questions, she had conversations and reconstructed them into a cartoon.
At the end of each chapter, an essay explaining the background of the conversation with the child, the concerns of the caregiver, and quotes from the referenced books are included, adding to the understanding and reliability of the text.
This is a practical parenting essay on faith education that helps children encounter God, who loves all children in the world more than anyone else, in a joyful and personal way.

Publisher's Review
"Explaining the truth simply." _Baek Jong-ho, CEO of HisShow
“This book beckons with a father’s heart.” _Yoseph Lee, author of “Learning Parenting”
“It’s something both adults and children can enjoy.” _Lee Jeong-gyu, Senior Pastor of Si Gwang Church
“She is a good example of faith education for parents.” _ Joo Se-hee, mother of singer AKMU
A “No Questions Feast” unfolds where children’s faith shines (grows)!
There are questions that can be asked from a child's perspective, with pure gaze and thought.
Anyone who has raised a child will have experienced that this question sometimes cuts to the heart of faith.
“Mom, am I going to hell?”
“But why does hell exist? Does it really have to exist?”
“What happens if you throw trash in heaven?”
“Why are all Jesus’ disciples men?”
Author Song Mi-hyeon, who majored in theology, also faced such questions while raising a child.
The child's questions were quite theological and sometimes religious.
The author spoke with the child, hoping that the child would go beyond any good or bad influence he might unilaterally impose on the child and become a child with his own journey of faith, a child who would stand on his own two feet and meet his own God.
The first step in a conversation is to think about why the child is curious about something and to think about it from the child's perspective.
By doing so, it becomes easier to understand the child's perspective and mind, and it becomes possible to have deeper conversations with the child.
Questions are coming out, faith is growing
The topics covered in the book range from doctrine and faith to everyday life, including the Trinity, heaven and hell, popular culture and media, the existence of Santa Claus, gender equality, the climate crisis, and self-esteem.
It is only natural that wherever you look in the world, you will see God's creative providence, governance, and love.
However, there are certainly aspects of life that are sometimes difficult for even adults to understand.
So, when children ask questions that are a mixture of curiosity and doubt, we adults who grew up asking those questions should accept them as 'open questions' and lead the conversation so that the child can develop his or her perspective on the world (worldview).
The most private questions create the most public beliefs!
Author Song Mi-hyeon, who was curious about God and faith as a child, looked back at the theology books she had previously studied and went to the library to search for materials, with the mindset of cherishing every single word.
The author said, “Although the child was not that curious and did not seem to listen carefully to the sincere answers, when the child grew up, he said, ‘You asked this question.
“I wanted to leave a trace that said, ‘Mom, Dad, I had this conversation like this.’”
Readers will find throughout the book that this was written with the hope that this would become the heart and attitude of all caregivers.
There would be nothing happier than if all children could joyfully and personally encounter God, who loves not only my child but all children in the world more than anyone else!
The book is organized in the form of comics so that children and caregivers can read it together, and at the end of each chapter, an essay is included that explains the background of the conversation with the child, the concerns of the caregiver, and quotes from the books referenced, thereby increasing the understanding and reliability of the text.
However, this book does not provide answers to all of the concerns of parents.
As Pastor Lee Jeong-gyu, who wrote the recommendation, said, we are all children of God and are continually learning to know God.
However, as each person strives to find their own answers, children and parents can live together in a life where their faith matures.
“Sometimes I move away and fall down,
And in doing so, you get to know God more.
It'll probably take a long time.
