Description
Book Introduction
Dane Otlund, who revealed the compassion and love that resided deep within the heart of Jesus Christ in "Meek and Humble," speaks of the key to sanctification in this book.
In other words, this book speaks of the driving force that brings about real change in truly corrupt sinners.
In this book, the author refers to Christ.
The key to true sanctification, not superficial change, is Christ.
Therefore, to change, we must go deeper into fellowship with Christ.
We must go deeper into the knowledge of Christ.
We must go deeper into the heart of Christ.
We must know Christ's love more deeply.
Sanctification is not achieved without filling the soul with Christ.

Into the book
One of the common reasons we cannot shake off sin is because of our limited concept of Jesus.
Of course, our Christology is orthodox, not unorthodox.
We know that Jesus, the Son of God, came into the world to live a life we could never live, and then took the punishment we deserved: death.
We believe in his glorious resurrection and, according to the ancient creed, confess that he is truly God and truly man.
Our doctrine is not unorthodox.
But despite all this doctrinal accuracy, the glory of Christ has been terribly diminished in our minds by our tamed notions.
--- p.17-18
Simply put, you cannot change if you do not know who Jesus is.
In particular, we must know that Jesus is extremely gentle and go deeper into His gentleness throughout our lives.
If we fail to discover the true face of Jesus, we are left with only one alternative: to return to the hamster wheel of life, trying our best to honor and follow Jesus, thinking that each failure will diminish the reserves of His grace and mercy, and hoping to run through our lives until we exhaust them all and die.
If we are in Christ, we must listen to the teachings of the Bible.
Our sins actually increase the reserves of grace.
Where sin abounds, grace abounds all the more.
The heart of Jesus remains in the places where we feel the greatest shame and regret, and never leaves them.
--- p.35
So how does the Holy Spirit bring about inner transformation in Christians? The New Testament answers by saying that the Holy Spirit transforms us by awakening us to the excellence of Christ.
The Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity, performs the work of highlighting the second person, the Son.
--- p.208
In conclusion, the greatest secret to growing in Christ is to look to Him.
Fix your eyes on Christ.
Abide in Him every moment.
Be strengthened by His love.
He is a person, not a concept.
As time goes by, get to know Him more deeply.
Scottish pastor Andrew Bonar wrote in a letter in 1875 at the age of 65, “Christ is becoming more precious every day.
Oh, if only I knew his heart of love!” he said.
