At the beginning of the series, it was serialized as an independent work rather than as "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 7: Steel Ball Run", but when the serialization medium was moved from the boys' magazine "Weekly Jump" to the youth magazine "Ultra Jump", it was officially declared as the 7th part.


The setting of this work is the American West.
The Steel Ball Run, the first-ever cross-country race in North America, is held, and numerous adventurers from around the world compete in a heated race for a huge prize.
Although it is set in the American West, it is not the actual American history we know.
Additionally, many characters with the same surnames as in Part 1, such as Joestar, Zeppeli, and Dio, appear, and the author asked that this part be viewed as a parallel world to Part 1.


It depicts the passionate friendship and growth of two men, Johnny Joestar, a genius rider who became paralyzed from the waist down in an unfortunate accident, and Gyro Zeppeli, a mysterious man armed with a spinning iron ball.
Stand battles are the basics, but with the countless obstacles they face, the bizarre characters, and the true story of the race finally revealed through conspiracies and twists, this work can truly be said to be a comprehensive gift set of "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure."
