Lesson 61, 206 videos: Teacher Yangsu's fun lessons revealed
Most children list physical education as their favorite subject.
Because it is a time when you can release your overflowing energy by having fun and playing.
However, it is one of the most difficult and challenging subjects for teachers, to the point that there is a separate physical education teacher.
So sometimes, I can't resist the kids' nagging demands to play dodgeball or soccer, so I end up filling class time with just a ball.
Even if it's not dodgeball or soccer, there are countless games that can capture children's attention during physical education.
This book introduces 61 easy and fun play physical education lessons that can be followed as they are taught.
Through the teaching know-how of play physical education expert, Mr. Yangsu Kim, each class is designed to be enjoyed for 40 minutes with 3-4 games that increase children's activity level while requiring simple preparation and rules.
If you are a teacher who has been feeling overwhelmed by physical education classes, this book will help you prepare easily and create a physical education class that children can enjoy.

Into the book
While teachers need to create opportunities for children who excel in physical education to shine, they must also constantly consider ways to provide more attention and participation opportunities to children who dislike or avoid physical education due to poor or inadequate motor skills.
One way to do this is to use 'advantages' and 'handicaps'.
'Advantage' is a rule that is modified to give children with poor or weak motor skills an advantageous environment or authority in a ball game, while 'handicap' is a rule that gives children with excellent motor skills an unfavorable environment or conditions so that children with poor motor skills can play on equal terms.

Physical Education Class, What Should We Do? : 03.
From "Good to know before class"
When you want to choose one of the five areas of physical education as a physical education class, don't stop at simply choosing a sport or unit like 'soccer', 'running', or 'kin-ball'. Instead, choose a topic that reflects the changes you expect from children after learning that sport or unit, or the direction you and children should take toward the class goals.
Although you may not be able to do this for all your physical education classes, I recommend trying to implement a themed physical education class in one or two areas per year.
Through this, teachers will be able to move forward without losing sight of the goals they are aiming for during the class, and will gain experience teaching alongside children to achieve the subject goals.

Physical Education Class, What Should We Do? : 05.
How is the physical education curriculum reflected?
I would encourage teachers to have a clear philosophy and set one goal for their physical education classes.
I believe the goal of elementary physical education is to allow children to experience a variety of physical activities, athletics, and sports culture.
Rather than aiming to achieve emotional, cognitive, and emotional growth or holistic education through physical education, we realistically aim to provide children with a variety of physical activities and experiences through physical education classes held two to three times a week.
In addition, we aim to provide physical education classes that are interesting and fun.
The reason why children need to experience a variety of physical education classes is that when they go to middle and high school, they generally learn physical education centered on sports, and because physical education evaluations still play an important role, it is not easy for them to experience a variety of physical activities because physical education classes are limited to evaluations.
Elementary physical education is free in that respect, so teachers can restructure physical education classes according to their capabilities, providing opportunities for children to experience a variety of physical activities.

Physical Education Class, What Should We Do? : 05.
How is the physical education curriculum reflected?
When we think about the evaluation of physical function (motor function), motor function can be improved through effort, but the influence of innate ability is much greater.
Since most children with good motor skills excel in all physical activities, it is questionable whether children with parents with excellent motor skills should be given a better evaluation based on their genetic background.
Also, although the assessment of motor skills in physical education classes has improved a lot, if we evaluate basketball classes like we did in the past, where we teach free throws and give an 'A' to students who make a certain number of them, we need to consider how much of the basketball skills the child has learned can be demonstrated or utilized on the basketball court.

Physical Education Class, What Should We Do? : 05.
How is the physical education curriculum reflected?
What I want to say to teachers is to have hope for the majority of children who actively participate in physical activities.
There is nothing more comforting and encouraging to a physical education teacher than when children actively and happily participate in a physical education class.
On the other hand, when children show no interest or enjoyment in the activities teachers diligently prepared, the teacher may blame herself and feel skeptical, thinking, "What did I do wrong? I feel like I'm truly inadequate as a physical education teacher."
Therefore, it can be an important tip to incorporate a ceremony that reflects the teacher's intention into the class rules and practice it, and to give more praise and encouragement to children and the class that react well.
If 70-80% of children participate in the physical education class prepared by the teacher with a positive attitude and enjoyment, I hope that we will look with hope and expectation at the majority of children who actively participate rather than looking at the few who disrupt the class.
This will help teachers maintain their passion for physical education and feel more rewarded for preparing and implementing valuable physical education lessons for children.

Publisher's Review
From warm-up exercises to class evaluations, we'll tell you how physical education begins and ends.
It can be quite challenging for teachers to leave the familiar space of the classroom and conduct physical education classes in the playground and auditorium.
The unique challenges of physical education classes, such as the distraction of excited children gathered in a large space, the inconvenience of sharing a space with fellow teachers, the burden of having to demonstrate, and the ambiguity of the class evaluation criteria, make teachers nervous.
There are also concerns about what physical education equipment is essential for the auditorium, playground, and classroom, how to manage children who are sick and attending class, how to ensure orderly behavior such as standing in line, and how to develop children's physical strength.
In this book, 「Intro.
In "What Should We Do in Physical Education Class?", we share the mindset and various ideas teachers should have to overcome these concerns and create better physical education classes.
This guide will help you plan richer and more enjoyable physical education classes through the long-term thoughts and know-how of play physical education expert, teacher Yangsu Kim, including special greetings only during physical education time through handshakes, how to form groups, fun orderly exercises and warm-up exercises related to class, how to manage and organize teaching materials, various ways to get children to focus on the teacher, ways to improve children's lacking basic physical strength, and physical education evaluation methods through videos.

「Part 3.
In “Health Area Play and Physical Education,” children’s physical strength is improved through games using simple equipment that can be easily found around them, such as jump rope and hoops. In “Part 4.
