Humans are no exception to the threat of extinction.
The recent changes in the Earth's environment are a crisis so great that they can be called the sixth mass extinction.
Climate changes that have caused mass extinctions on Earth in the past were caused by natural events such as volcanic eruptions and giant meteorite impacts.
But the cause of the crisis we are currently experiencing is humans.
Therefore, we have a responsibility to revive the Earth's environment.
Because we humans are also a part of nature, living together with other creatures on Earth.

The era we live in now is one in which the average temperature of the Earth has suddenly risen by about 1 degree compared to 100 years ago.
Naturally, it takes about 2,000 years for the Earth's average temperature to rise by 1 degree.
Compared to this, it has risen at an incredibly fast rate.
As the Earth's average temperature rises, extreme weather events that humans cannot predict or prevent will increase.

People burn down large areas of forest every year to make way for cattle ranches.
Even as you read this book, many forests are disappearing.
