Cognitive Counseling Executive Function Workbook
Description
Book Introduction
For improved frontal lobe function and proper use Presenting various methodologies in actual clinical settings If you enjoy it like a game with various parishes, Improve working memory, attention, cognitive inhibition, processing speed, and cognitive flexibility! Veteran counselors from the International Association for Clinical Cognitive Counseling suggest: Cognitive counseling know-how to stimulate children's interest This book is a workbook written by the president and board members of the International Association for Clinical Cognitive Counseling. The association has been continuously researching the functions and uses of brain cognition, as well as methods for dealing with psychological and emotional changes, since a time when the concept of cognitive counseling was not even properly established. These veteran counselors, with extensive experience in clinical settings, have been working diligently to develop ways to engage children and adolescents and encourage them to develop their cognitive abilities on their own, applying this knowledge to real-world clinical settings. We are continuing our activities to naturally improve our functions and ultimately help people become good members of society. The book introduces cognitive function improvement activities using various teaching aids such as board games. We also provide guidance on intervention methods for reactions that children and adolescents may exhibit during counseling and activities. This workbook will be an excellent textbook for many clinical counselors across the country. |

Into the book
Although the concept of cognitive counseling had not yet been systematically established, we agreed, based on our accumulated counseling expertise, that cognitive counseling was the best counseling method.
Counseling that more appropriately addresses the process of understanding and utilizing the cognitive functions of the brain, the area where people think, and the various psychological changes and expressions of emotions that occur during that process.
That is what we call cognitive counseling.
--- p.5
Children with working memory deficiencies have difficulty remembering information about everyday situations and often complain of this difficulty in learning situations.
--- p.12
Children with attention deficit disorder have a short attention span and poor ability to focus on the teacher's explanations at school.
Therefore, when a distracting factor appears, attention is quickly distracted and we become drawn to the distracting stimulus.
--- p.90
Children with high cognitive inhibition have no trouble reading and understanding the meaning of a passage when reading a book, but children with low cognitive inhibition often have difficulty understanding the meaning of a passage because they cannot maintain attention due to the activation of inappropriate thoughts unrelated to the task.
--- p.142
Children with poor processing speed may have difficulty perceiving simple information sensitively and quickly, and may perceive it in a fragmented and narrow manner rather than interpreting it comprehensively.
--- p.174
Children with high cognitive flexibility believe that they have various options even when faced with frustrating situations, so they are able to overcome and transition from frustrating situations.
However, children with low cognitive flexibility tend to be very aggressive and have unpleasant emotions because they believe that they have no other options than the current situation, and they are often said to have a narrow field of vision due to their narrow visual ability.
