The 'Adult Picture Book Research Group' seeks out picture books that adults would enjoy, reads them together, and writes book reviews based on them.
"Adult Picture Book Journey" is a compilation of 36 book reviews they wrote, categorized into four sections: books that allow readers to look into their inner selves and gain enlightenment, books that evoke memories and nostalgia, or books that allow readers to think about relationships and social issues.
This will be a useful guide for those who want to read books but find the content difficult, or for those who want to communicate with people around them through books.

Into the book
This work, which makes your heart ache and your eyes red as you read, is Jordan Scott's autobiographical story.

The figure of a man waiting for a soul, expressed in graphite by the artist, is drawn with simple lines as if stopped in a space filled with blank space, and the passage of time can be felt only through the length of the man's hair.
On the other hand, the journey of the lost soul to find the man is drawn with dark and thick lines.
The heavy texture of thick, dark graphite, filled without any margins, maximizes the difficulty of the soul's journey to find the man, and the slow, tedious time before the man and the soul meet is depicted like a faded time in a black and white photograph.

The next day after taking the fake medicine, when Sunja tells the children that she did not die even though she took the medicine, the children praise her, saying, “You are really strong,” “You are a child who would not die easily,” and “You are amazing.”
Sunja now feels relieved that she is no longer afraid of illness and that she is not alone.
On the first day of playing with the children on the plains, looking up at the stars that she had never looked up at before, Sunja finally chooses to overcome them together.

We cannot ignore what was done to us by powerful nations when we were weak, as if it were someone else's business.
The hunter in 『The Weight of the Butterfly』 introduced earlier stops hunting wild goats.
Because I couldn't forget the sad eyes of the kid goat.
Even if we are not hunters, we cannot be free from this pain.
Seo Jin-seon seems to feel that pain particularly deeply.
Yet, without being crushed, he faces it with a warm and calm gaze.
That's why "To Mom" feels more genuine, and its impact seems likely to continue for a long time.
