Into the book
When it comes to food, we usually try to consume it in a way that reflects our lifestyle and way of life.
Like pursuing veganism while participating in environmental movements.
But I don't think you worry that much about furniture or the house.
I hope you'll think about space and furniture that fits your lifestyle, not just design. 'The Home Library'
105p - Symbols of Space, CEO Kim Ki-seok
---p.105 From “Symbols of Space” by Kim Ki-seok
Furniture is something that makes me comfortable.
I'm wondering how I can make it uncomfortable.
You think about the furniture more than me.
In our country, all sofas are placed against the wall.
But there are also sofas with pretty backs.
Then, try placing a sofa in the middle of the living room.
We're researching how to make this furniture stand out more.
I think that when you do that, your understanding of furniture deepens and you come up with more innovative styles.
---p.118 From "In Search of Strange Furniture - mk2 CEO Jongmyeong Lee"
Actually, there is no such thing as know-how for choosing good furniture.
It's different for every space and for every person.
It's dangerous to talk about know-how without knowing what kind of life that person has lived.
However, there is one thing I would like to urge you to do: always consider your own lifestyle.
---p.138 From “Furniture for Putting Down - Yang Tae-oh, CEO of Eastern Edition”
Their brand philosophy is to make a good product and use it for a long time, and you can actually feel that philosophy in their products.
---p.143 From “Popularization of Design Furniture - Rooming CEO Park Geun-ha”
I think good furniture is furniture that allows the user to be the subject.
If you look at some houses, you will see that they live their lives as the furniture dictates.
There is a sofa in the living room, so we gather, and there is a bed in the bedroom, so we sleep.
I don't think this is very desirable.

Publisher's Review
Furniture in Life
The reason why 『Urbanlike』 chose 'furniture' for its 44th issue is because it believes that 'furniture' plays a more important role than anything else as an element that makes up life.
Because the essence of furniture can be said to be a tool for human life.
Meanwhile, 『Urbanlike』 has continuously presented stories about the residential life and lifestyle of city dwellers through issues such as ‘Living Space No. 36’, ‘Working Space No. 39’, and ‘Working from Home No. 40’.
While preparing this issue, my biggest concern was how far to cover the scope of furniture.
There are so many pieces of furniture in the world, but what kind of furniture should be introduced with an 'urban-like down' perspective?
The brands, people, and spaces featured in this issue were selected based on the criteria of "creativity" that expresses one's own identity, "personality" that sets them apart from others, and "modernity" that allows them to connect with the contemporary world.
We have tried to avoid any content that recommends certain brands or products, and we have also tried to avoid mentioning styling products that can already be found on interior design platforms or living magazines.
We focused on the stories of 'Creators' who make furniture and 'Lifestyle shops' that select and suggest good products to consumers, such as interviews with Nils Holger Moormann, founder of Moormann, who refuses to follow the mainstream path, architect Seung Hyo-sang's Irojae Objects who is faithful to the calling given to him, and the designer ahead of his time, Charlotte Perriand, as well as MK2 CEO Jong-myeong Lee, Rooming CEO Geun-ha Park, and Eastern Edition CEO Tae-oh Yang.
Above all, please keep an eye on young Seoul-based creators who create spaces and even furniture, such as PlatM, Giljongsangga, Jo Hyun-seok, Studio Shinyu, Practis, Studio Millionroses, and Space Symbols.
