Crisis!
Description
Book Introduction
For the saints, a crisis is an opportunity!
“All our crises
“It is a good opportunity to achieve God’s salvation.”

Our church's Pastor Yangjae Kim's cute lecture on 1 Samuel, "Crisis!" has been published.
This book is the fourth in the series of Q&A lectures on 1 Samuel, following “The One Who Hears the Word,” “He Loves Still,” and “There’s a Reason for Everything.”
This is a meditation on the words of 1 Samuel, chapters 23 through 31, with a special focus on 'how the era of Saul came to an end and the new era of David began.'

In every life, crises come.
David and Saul's lives were also a series of crises.
But as we all know, the endings of these two lives are very different.
For Saul, the crisis was truly a 'crisis'.
Saul was so handsome and powerful that he was said to have been “a more handsome man than he among the children of Israel” (1 Samuel 9:2). However, he wasted his life chasing David, was helplessly defeated by his enemies, the Philistines, and ended up committing suicide.
On the other hand, what was David like? After being anointed by God, his life was a daily march of suffering.
Not only was he being pursued by Saul, he was betrayed by his own people, and after fleeing to the Philistines, he was captured by the Amalekites.
Yet David did not leave God.
On the contrary, in every crisis, I pondered intensely, 'How should I obey?'
Therefore, he forgave Saul, whom he could never forgive, and repented bitterly for his sin of leaving for Philistia, a land he should never have gone to.

Pastor Kim Yang-jae, the author, says, “Even in dilemmas like David’s, when we discern and act on what pleases God, the crisis turns into opportunity.”
Therefore, it is said, “There is no crisis for the saints!”
Because “for the saints, a crisis is a good opportunity to reestablish their relationship with God.”
What is the mission of a saint? It is to care for each soul, to lead that soul to salvation.
A life lived solely according to one's mission is the most brilliant life.
What crisis are you facing right now? I hope that through "Crisis!" your life's crisis will be transformed into an opportunity for salvation.

Into the book
“It’s my fault” always means considering the other person’s position.
Even if I am betrayed, I must look at the situation from the perspective of the person who betrayed me.
Then, it will automatically become 'It's my fault.'
The greatest enlightenment is to admit that everything is 'my fault.'
It is a mystical power, a participation in the divine nature.
“This is the secret to finding peace even in the presence of those who have betrayed me.”
--- p.29

“If there is something in my life that I absolutely must take revenge on, then yes.
Now, please leave everything to God.
We believe that God will take care of everything as we all sail on the ship of Jesus.
“I will give you the best revenge.”
--- p.67

“But because I was wrapped in the life-giving blanket of God, there was always a helping hand at crucial times.
David also had a helping hand at a crucial time.”
--- p.
82

“People are never objects of faith.
It is the object of love.
David loved Saul so much that he did not kill him even when he had the chance.
But they did not believe Saul.
We too need this wisdom.
“To accomplish great things, the ability to discern people is essential.”
--- p.127

“That is the life of us who believe.
If you abandon absolute faith, absolute crisis will come.
But if you ask the community, you will find a way out.
David's victory came only when he asked God.”
--- p.155

“For us who believe, there is no such thing as ‘nothing is impossible.’
There is no crisis.
“Suffering is a miracle, and the physical blessings that God gives are also miracles.”
--- p.185~186

“There is no such thing as a star life.
Our hope is in the kingdom of God.
Whether you live or die, you just have to follow God's laws and wake up in the kingdom of God.
There is no dilemma or crisis for the saints.
Only Jesus is the way out of crisis.
“Wouldn’t many of our predecessors in the faith have been martyred like that?”
--- p.208

“Discipline is given by God because He loves us.
You have to believe this.
Now is the time to put on the strength of Jehovah.”
--- p.239

“The best help is to lead the other person to repentance.
“Repentance will help me get to the heart of my problem.”
--- p.249

“God allowed David a new beginning through Saul’s death.
Our life is like that too.
“The Saul within me must die, and I must put Saul down for the era of David to begin.”
--- p.290
