Into the book
Everything is uncomfortable in the wilderness.
And I'm always anxious because there are dangers everywhere that I don't know about.
However, such inconvenience and anxiety are not disadvantages, but rather advantages of being a nomad.
Because I am uncomfortable and anxious, I am always awake and have no time to become lazy.
Because we cannot live without God's hand even for a moment, we pray without ceasing.
The suffering of the wilderness created an awakened spirituality.

--- p.23

Usually, when we think of the word 'law', we think of something rigid and burdensome.
But God's law is not meant to restrict their freedom.
An airplane flies freely in the sky, but if the pilot does not fly it according to the 'laws', it will quickly crash.
God's law is God's secret plan for Israel to survive in the wilderness-like world.
You must engrave it in your heart and live by it.

--- p.50

Egypt was a land of worldly splendor, but spiritually it was desolate because God was not with it.
The reason we keep getting tested and struggling is because the goals we think we have in life are very similar to the Egyptian elements, that is, the standards of success that the world pursues.
When you mix your worldly ambitions with God's vision and try to achieve it by borrowing God's power, everything becomes tangled and difficult.

--- p.64

Life in the wilderness is a place full of hardships in many ways, so it's easy to end up complaining and complaining negatively.
But paradoxically, if we practice speaking the language of faith in the wilderness, we will be able to overcome it.

--- p.79

We only think about how to quickly pass this test, but God's concern is that we learn the spiritual lessons we need to learn through this test.
So faith becomes stronger and deeper.
When trials come in life, we must learn to trust God completely.

--- p.90

God has a big and wonderful plan for our lives.
We must clearly understand God's amazing plan.
That way, you won't waste your life carelessly.
That way, you won't be intimidated by the world's glamour.
Only then can you develop a holy and healthy self-esteem, allowing you to face any trials with strength and courage.

--- p.106

The time spent standing still with the pillar of cloud was never a meaningless waste of time.
It's not a stuffy or boring time.
From a spiritual perspective, it is actually a time of blessing.
Because it is a time of long fellowship with the Lord in God's presence.
It is a time to be ‘filled with the Holy Spirit’ through the anointing of the Holy Lord.

--- p.129

All the people who said, “I wish I could die in the wilderness,” actually died during the next 40 years of wilderness wandering.
If you say you're going to die, you'll die.
The spies had already declared defeat before the battle began.
Because of this, the door through which the Almighty God could work was closed.

--- p.150

The first generation of disobedience died in the wilderness.
God did not begin a new history until the entire generation of disobedience had died out.
Our priorities are urgent, but God's priorities are holy.
Only when all the remnants of disobedience that God does not like die within us, and we become purified and humble, will God move.

--- p.169

The praise of faith is to thank God in advance for an answer that has not yet come.
Gratitude is not just about blessings from the past.
True gratitude comes from the difficult times when things haven't gotten any better yet.
It is a blessing that has not yet been given, but it is a blessing that is proclaimed in advance, believing in the grace that will be given in the future.
It is to proclaim in advance the miracles of the future through faith.

--- p.193

Even people who don't believe in Jesus are happy when good things happen.
But the word 'always' means to be joyful regardless of whether it is a good day or a difficult day, regardless of the circumstances.
To be able to always be joyful, we must see God's blessings hidden in every situation that we are unaware of.

--- p.238

The wilderness is a place of countless spiritual trials, and those who overcome these trials will receive a heavenly reward.
The way to successfully overcome these trials is to follow the example of our leader, Jesus.

Publisher's Review
A future of blessings that can be endured through the platform of the wilderness!

The wilderness is a harsh and dry land.
So, it's a place I want to avoid as much as possible, and if I have to pass by, I want to get through it as quickly as possible.
But the author says that the wilderness is not just a difficult place, a place to be passed through quickly.
The hardships and adversities we experience in the wilderness are a stepping stone for our spiritual growth, so we must not waste that suffering.
The 40 years of wilderness life that the Israelites endured after the Exodus from Egypt seemed like a lifetime of hardship to us.
However, if you meditate on the words that you do not understand with spiritual eyes, you will come to realize the deep meaning of God contained within them.
And we come to know why God allowed the Israelites to travel through the difficult wilderness rather than the easy way.
The long time in the wilderness was a time of refinement needed to prepare the vessels capable of handling the Promised Land.
If you see God's teachings and guidance hidden in the wilderness, you will agree with the author's confession that the wilderness is beautiful.
There are times when our life's journey feels like a wilderness.
I hope that through this book, you will be able to open your spiritual eyes to discover the beauty of the wilderness, and that you will be able to confess with sincerity that the wilderness is beautiful.

The most fervent prayer, the most gracious worship,
The most moving devotion is born in the wilderness!

One thing I've realized after over 30 years of ministry is that faith doesn't grow easily when you're just walking peacefully on green pastures.
Rather than not growing, there are many cases where they silently degenerate and regress.
Most of the time, when we make such a spiritual leap that we are surprised and those around us can sense it, it is while we are going through a very difficult wilderness.
Those who offer the most fervent prayers, the most gracious worship, and the most moving devotion are all often forged in the fiery furnaces of the wilderness.
It's truly a mystery.

The wilderness is a special spiritual training school prepared by God for us.
If you think that you will get through it quickly just because it is difficult, then it will be a waste of suffering.
More important than getting through quickly is learning and getting through the spiritual lessons contained in the wilderness journey.
If we do that, we will become great champions who can conquer the Promised Land.
If we understand God's special will in the wilderness, and thus see the wilderness with spiritual eyes, we will be able to confess this:

“The wilderness is beautiful! Beautiful wilderness!”
