Description
Book Introduction
365 Days of Devotional Reflections with Martin Lloyd-Jones
“He is the greatest preacher of the 20th century,
“He was a soul doctor who awakened our spirits.”

It is impossible to grow spiritually without spending time with the Bible, the Word of God.
It is not enough to listen to the Word on Sunday and occasionally during the week; we must eat the Word ourselves every day.
But it is not easy to move forward in the Word every day.
At this time, we can receive help through the writings of godly pastors and authors.
Martin Lloyd-Jones is the most outstanding of them all.

Lloyd Jones was one of the most promising doctors in England.
However, early in his career as a physician, he left the medical profession after receiving a "higher calling": to become a "healer of souls."
He made a penetrating diagnosis of the human condition and persuasively proclaimed the gospel as the only sufficient answer.
Having held the pulpit of London's Westminster Chapel for 30 years, he is remembered as one of the greatest preachers of the 20th century, boldly proclaiming evangelical doctrine.

Even after Martin Lloyd-Jones' death, countless believers around the world continue to be deeply spiritually challenged by his writings.
There are even stories of people who have read his books experiencing conversion, to the point where they say that even if they were lying down, they would sit up and read again, and even if they were sitting, they would kneel down.
He was a true prophet of God's word who literally "preached even in death."
This book is an extension of that precious ministry.

So how should we view the issue of faith and reason? Now, faith isn't simply reason.
But it is not contrary to reason.
Faith is not irrational or unreasonable.
People object.
“Oh, that’s an irrational teaching.
You just said that faith isn't a matter of reason. Then, of course, it's against reason. "No, it's not."
Faith is not reason, but it is not opposed to reason.
So what is it? Faith transcends reason.
This means that the extent to which reason can reach is limited to the realization that reason alone is not sufficient, and from that point on, we must submit only to revelation.
This is faith.
Faith is the acceptance of revelation.
--- 「Jan.
22 From “Faith and Reason”

Consider the fact that we have the exclusive love and attention of the Father and the Son.
I must confess that my heart breaks every time I think about this.
Yet, I often spend time wondering why I don't experience that love more, why God doesn't love me more and work for me more, and I think you do too.
How terrifying! My inability to truly understand God's love for me is a source of worry and a challenge.
People often say, “I think I love God too little,” and they are right.
I say the same thing.

Lord, my biggest complaint is
My love is weak and faint.
― William Cooper

That's true.
The best solution to this is not to try to do anything within yourself or to create love deep within your heart.
The way to know God's love begins with knowing God's love for me.
This very doctrine is the great path that leads to love.
--- 「Mar.
10 From “Those Who Are Loved by the Father and the Son”

The most amazing thing about the cross is that it shows God's love.
It is no wonder that Paul told the Romans, “God demonstrates his own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
How can we see God's love on the cross? Ah, modern people, even though humans rejected and killed his Son, God still loves them and says, "It's okay."
I forgive you.
I know you're making the argument that, "He did this to my son, but I forgive him."
Of course, that is partially true.
But only in part.
That is not a statement that shows God's love as it is.
God did not just watch the death of his son.
But modern people think that way.
God, who looks down from heaven on all things, saw his son die at the hands of men and said, “It is okay.
I think it's like saying, "I forgive you."
But we were not the ones who dragged the Son of God to the cross.
It's God.
This was an event that God had foreseen and planned.

9 From “The Cross and God’s Love”

The Lord Jesus Christ made this astonishing claim about himself:
“All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father.” Let’s reframe the situation in its entirety.
Someone is talking.
As you can see from his appearance, he is just a human being.
He has a group of followers around him who follow him and listen to his teachings.
They followed this man as he traveled around ancient Palestine and observed what he did.
He could be called, so to speak, 'a man who speaks to the people.'
But the word “everything” he speaks of here implies that there are no limits.
This is the most comprehensive word.
Who on earth is this person to say such things?
--- 「May.
17 From “Everything”

“What would it be like if you died tonight?”
“Oh, I believe in God.”
"great.
So, what will you say when you stand before the God you believe in? What will you rely on?”
“Well, I’ve always tried to live a good life.
“I tried my best to do good.”
“And yet you did not sin?”
“Of course not.
“I have sinned.”
"So what about that sin? What will you say to God about it?"
“Well, I believe that God is a God of love.”
“How will that help?”
“Well, I believe that if we confess our sins to God and ask for forgiveness, He will forgive us.
That's what I rely on."
The point I am trying to make is that these people do not even mention the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
They seem to think that they can come to God directly without the Lord Jesus Christ.
I don't know how many Christianitys there are without Christ.
--- 「Jun.
4 From “Is the Lord Jesus Christ the Center?”

The world doesn't hate us because we are good.
Let's get this point straight.
The world does not hate good people.
They only hate Christians.
This is a very subtle, yet extremely important distinction.
If you were simply a good person, the world would praise and encourage you, rather than hate you.
This is true not only for individuals but also for churches.
The Bible says that Christians are hated by the world not because they do bad things or because they do good or do good deeds, but simply because they are Christians, because they belong to God, because they have Christ in them.
--- 「Oct.
27 From “Hated by the World”

So how can we learn to love ourselves? Simply remember this truth.
“For God so loved us.” In other words, this is the process we must take.
When I feel angry, upset, confused, or hostile, the first thing I need to do is look at myself.
Then half the victory is won.
We know from experience that all the difficulties that arise from this type of problem always come from blaming others without looking back at ourselves.
But what do I discover when I look back at myself first? “God so loved me.”
--- 「Nov.
