Pastor Moon Bong-ju's Grasp the Context of the Bible
Description
Book Introduction
A bestseller for hundreds of thousands of Christians, the revised edition of "Getting the Context of the Bible" has been published!
Back with a new format, larger font, and detailed maps
A masterpiece of reading the entire Bible
If you build a framework and flesh out the words, you can understand the 66 books of the Bible at a glance.
God's will is visible.
Since its publication in 2007, the renowned Bible-reading book, "Get the Context of the Bible," which has consistently been loved by hundreds of thousands of Christians and helped them experience the Bible in their lives, has been published in a revised edition.
This book was written for believers who read the Bible but fail to experience the Word as their own.
This revised edition, published with a new cover, has completely revised the Bible quotations from the Revised Korean Version to the Revised Version. At the request of readers, the format and font size have been enlarged, and the Bible maps and sentences have been meticulously refined.
By dividing the Bible into chronological periods, such as the Creation period, the Exodus period, and the Holy Spirit period, according to the structure of the book, and then adding flesh to that chronological structure, you will be able to see the flow of the Bible at a glance.
Unlike existing Bible reading books that take more than 90 days, this book helps you read the Bible in a relatively short period of time by covering the main contents and core of the Bible in 40 days.
The included 'map' allows readers to identify major place names that frequently appear in the Bible and visualize the historical context, and 'drawing a map' allows readers to draw along the map themselves and learn about unfamiliar place names.
The 'Mac Grab' icon guides you through how the Old and New Testaments are connected, 'Spiritual Exploration' provides thoughts applicable to life and faith, and 'Knowledge Exploration' provides exploration content that supplements your knowledge of the Bible.
The author confesses that reading the Bible is not simply a process of acquiring knowledge, but rather a process by which believers come to realize God's "pleasant will" for their lives.
Through this book, laypeople will enjoy reading the 66 books of the Bible with the grace and inspiration given by the Lord, and become more sensitive to the voice of the Lord given to each of them.
I will clearly understand what God wants for me and be transformed into a holy saint who is distinct from the world.

Into the book
In recent years, many books have been published on reading the entire Bible, but this book focuses on applying the Bible's words, received as knowledge, to the lives of actual believers, rather than simply summarizing and explaining the contents of the 66 books of the Bible in an intellectual sense.
In other words, the purpose is to help us realize what kind of life God wants for us through reading the Bible.
That is, first, He calls us, sinners, to be His children set apart from the world (Genesis), then He gives us salvation when we respond to His calling with faith (Exodus), then He desires a holy life for the saved saints (Revelation), then He accompanies the holy saints (Ministry), and then He gives us blessings when we walk with the Lord and obey Him (Deuteronomy).
To summarize in one word, Jesus' words are, 'Love God and love your neighbor.'
The reason why saints cannot love one another is because they have not grasped the context of the New Testament along with the Old Testament.
To summarize the 27 books of the New Testament, if we are to love God and our neighbors with our lives at stake, we cannot do so without ‘self-denial’ every day and every moment (Mark 8:34).
Through this revised edition, I pray in the name of the Lord that all believers will read the Bible thoroughly, clearly understand God's will for them, and be transformed into holy believers who are set apart from the world, enjoying blessed lives.
I want to go beyond simply reading the Bible for fun on my own, and instead, I want to hear the voice of the Lord given to each of us and be transformed into the image of the Lord, becoming holy every day.
So I look forward to the day when we will praise the Lord's grace and glory all over the world.
--- p.4-5
It is more important to meet the Lord through His Word than to read the sentences written in the 66 books of the Bible.
“For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life” (2 Corinthians 3:6).
When we hear the Word of God, the deep inspiration of the Holy Spirit working within the Word moves our hearts.
So now you can pay tithes and pray at dawn.
The energy of the word moves me (Hebrews 4:12).
A person of faith does not waste the grace he has received from hearing the word.
--- p.13
We will connect the names of places in the Bible and observe how the Bible characters followed God's word through their specific lives.
(…) To do this, let’s first practice drawing a map of the Bible in 30 seconds.
First, draw a large bread on the left.
And then stick a fork into this bread.
On the right side, draw a chicken leg.
At this time, you should draw it so that the part covered with gold foil is on top and the fleshy part is on the bottom.
Draw a pig leg under the chicken leg, but don't draw it straight, but slightly to the side.
The left side is up and the right side is down.
That's how it works.
At this time, the right line of the pig's leg should be drawn in a straight line with the chicken leg above.
And on the right end, draw a cobra with its tongue flicking.
This is all there is to a Bible map that anyone can draw in 30 seconds.
--- p.17
Ultimately, if we were to summarize the 66 books of the Bible in one word, it would be ‘denying myself’ and ‘emptying myself.’
It is to cast off myself and be transformed into the image of Jesus.
Jesus said to his disciples:
“If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me” (Matthew 16:24).
The miracles and all the good works the Lord performed were not for his own honor or benefit, but for the glory of the Father and out of compassion for his neighbors.
After performing the miracle of the five loaves and two fish, the Lord left the crowd and went into the mountains alone to pray.
He knelt before his father.
The Lord humbled himself and denied himself even to the point of death.
To strip myself off like Jesus is the goal of a saved saint.
