Description
Book Introduction
The complete works of John Owen, considered one of the most outstanding figures among English Puritan theologians and preachers.
The first book in the series, "The Sin Within the Believer," addresses what the Bible says about sin.
It dissects under a microscope the true nature of sin, its power and influence, how sin leads people to destruction, and how sin is particularly revealed and active within believers.
In particular, this book has been made to be the definitive edition of Owen's complete works, with a refreshing commentary by Pastor Namjun Kim, a representative Korean Puritan preacher and theological successor to John Owen, and much effort has been put into translation and editing.

Into the book
The publication of the complete works of John Owen is a dream.
Publishing the complete works of John Owen has been one of my aspirations since I began publishing.
Now that wish has come true, we can take the first step toward publishing the complete works of John Owen.
The reason I am determined to publish a complete collection of John Owen's works is that only then can research on him be conducted in a comprehensive and balanced manner.
Publishing a complete collection of works on an important figure is like creating a highway for research on that figure.
The publication of the complete works of John Owen is a blessing.
John Owen (1616-1683) was the most outstanding figure among English Puritan theologians and preachers, and was called the 'Prince of Puritans' or the 'England Calvin'.
Broadly speaking, he is one of the most prominent representatives of 17th-century Protestant scholasticism, a champion of Reformed orthodoxy, and more broadly, one of the greatest spiritual giants in church history, standing shoulder to shoulder with Augustine, Luther, Calvin, and Jonathan Edwards.
Encountering such a historically significant figure up close will undoubtedly serve as a cornerstone for the depth, breadth, and height of the theology and faith of our Korean church.
The publication of the complete works of John Owen is a theological historical succession.
John Owen was a figure at the pinnacle of 17th-century Reformed orthodoxy, a figure who brought together in his theology the traditions of the ancient church fathers including Augustus, medieval scholastic theology including Thomas Aquinas, Renaissance humanism which gave him mastery of classical languages such as Hebrew, Greek, and Latin and a profound knowledge of classical literature, history, and philosophy, and Reformed theology which formed the foundation and framework of Owen's theology.
Therefore, reading the complete works of John Owen will allow us to move beyond the light theological atmosphere of the 21st century and engage in dialogue with the historical traditions of the ancient church fathers, medieval scholastic theology, Renaissance humanism, the 16th-century Reformation, and 17th-century Puritan and Protestant orthodoxy, thereby inheriting and developing the sound essence of the theological tradition that has been formed through providence.
Publishing the complete works of John Owen is a challenge.
The biggest obstacle to publishing the complete works of John Owen is translation.
Owen's Complete Works includes books in a variety of fields, including (1) doctrinal books, (2) practical books, (3) polemical books, and (4) biblical expositions.
It also contains encyclopedic knowledge that the greatest intellectuals of the 17th century could attain, including theology in general, including patristic theology, medieval theology, Catholic theology, Lutheran theology, Reformed theology, and heretical theology, rabbinic and Jewish literature, philosophy from ancient times to the present day, including Hobbes and Descartes, philology, history, geography, law, and classical literature.
Moreover, Owen's fluency in Hebrew, Greek, and Latin, and his use of a pervasive style of sentence structure, make translation even more challenging.
Therefore, publishing the extensive complete works of John Owen is a arduous task, like climbing the 14 peaks of Mount Everest.
No one knows when the complete works of John Owen will be published.
The key to publishing the complete works of John Owen lies in finding a good translator with both skill and perseverance.
We are doing our best to find a translator, but it is not an easy reality.
We ask for your prayers and support.

Publisher's Review
The legacy of John Owen, known as the Prince of Puritans, remains valuable even in the 21st century.
Because his writings are faithful to the Bible, honestly dissect humanity, and reveal wondrous knowledge about the great works of faith.
In particular, his human anatomy is unparalleled, and Owen analyzes human nature, pollution, corruption, and sin with the greatest microscope in church history.
The Revival and Reformation Publishing Company's edition of the John Owen Complete Works, Volumes 1 (Indwelling Sin in the Believer), 2 (Temptation), and 3 (Murder of Sin), published this time, is the most well-known and most practical of Owen's works, clearly explaining the nature of sin, its influence, and the believer's disposition and attitude toward it.
Volume 1, “The Sin Inherent in Believers,” deals with what the Bible says about sin.
It dissects under a microscope the very nature of sin, its power and influence, how sin leads people to destruction, and how sin is especially revealed and active within believers.
mudfish,
Volume 2, "Temptations," examines the impact of sin from a slightly different perspective and then explains the biblical principles believers must follow to avoid sin and temptation.
finally,
Volume 3, “Killing Sin,” literally shows how a born-again believer should kill sin.
Owen says that believers have many duties, but the greatest and most important duty is to put sin to death. He first explains what the Bible says about putting sin to death, and then shows what putting sin to death is and what putting sin to death is not.
And it devotes the most space to presenting concrete principles for putting sin to death.
Through these three books, readers can learn and practice the most important principles for a born-again believer to live a holy life.
They say there are two types of sinners in the world.
There are sinners who run towards sin and sinners who run away from sin and towards Jesus Christ.
Fighting against sin means getting closer to God.
It is to become like God.
When you know your sin better, you know God better.
You will come to know how good and holy God is, how great He is, how merciful He is, etc.
And when we become aware of sin, we see how miserable we are and we become thoroughly aware of our own hopelessness.
We look only to the Lord Jesus Christ and earnestly seek His grace.
In our regeneration and sanctification, we give glory entirely to God, and we earnestly long for the day when the battle against sin is over, when we are perfectly united with Jesus, our Lord and Savior, and when we worship Him purely.
The Complete Works of John Owen, published by Revival and Reformation, including Sin Indwelling in the Believer, Temptation, and Mortification of Sin, have previously been published in other translations and abridged editions.
However, Revival and Reformation Publishing Company has added a refreshing commentary by Pastor Nam-Jun Kim, a representative Korean Puritan preacher and theological successor to John Owen, to ensure that this series becomes the definitive edition of Owen's complete works, and has also put a lot of effort into translation and editing.
So now you can enjoy Owen's books, which were so good but not so easy to read.
Now, please read and reread the complete works of John Owen, published by Revival and Reformation, which earnestly hopes that the Korean church will experience true rebirth and holiness and give glory to God.
The holy God will renew you and make you more holy.
