Into the book
I couldn't bring myself to ask the trainee this burdensome question of 'specific obedience'.
I just taught diligently, following the training process.
I had them memorize scriptures, do QTs, read books and submit book reports, read the Bible, and pray.
Thinking, ‘If I work hard, it will work out.’
As a result, the goal became to train disciples rather than to create disciples with the heart of Jesus.
The purpose of my disciple training was to lead the trainees to their destination, the graduation ceremony, and to the high ground, without them falling behind, no matter what.
Although there were times when it was difficult, the trainees usually followed me well to the destination I gave them.
They themselves looked back on the difficult times and felt proud to attend the graduation ceremony.
And he became a martyr.
It's an embarrassing confession, but that's as far as it goes.

--- From "01 Confusion between Disciple and Fan"

What should have been given to trainees who completed their training was not a proud medal that said, "Now you are a great leader," but a device that helped them not forget that they were sinners and weak disciples who could collapse at any time.
The device is the accusation (charge, Matthew 27:37) that the Jews put on Jesus to mock him when he was crucified.
The punishment is more necessary for us, the actual sinners, than for Jesus, who has nothing to do with sin.
The device (sin) that allows us to see the various sins such as pride, self-righteousness, recognition, and boasting that still try to come out from within us whenever there is an opportunity is a compass that keeps us alert from such sins and protects us.

--- From "06 Awarding Medals"

In this way, discipleship training should be a training that connects the Word and life, and even after completing the training, disciples should continue to live under the control of the Word.
In that respect, Pastor Ok Han-Heum stated that when training laypeople, we should not just aimlessly beat the air (1 Corinthians 9:26), but that the strategic value of applied training is to clearly present the goals and standards by which laypeople sent out into the world should be educated and trained.

--- From “14 Word Interpretation to Life Application Training”

Later, when I said with grace and emotion, “I also want to become a good pastor like you,” the pastor waved his hand and said, “You shouldn’t become like me.
He said, “You must become like Jesus!” (not like me, like Jesus Christ!)
The pastor who came out to the door and bowed in the Korean style to see me off first, showed me not a disciple who put on a brave face, but rather a gentle and humble heart with a warm heart.
That last sentence, “not like me, like Jesus Christ!” is the path and direction that discipleship training should take.
