Book Introduction
This book is the fruit of over ten years of hard work to elucidate the eschatological tradition of the Korean Presbyterian Church, to which the author belongs.
One thing I would like to ask you to do is to read this book while remembering its full title (『The Eschatology of the Korean Presbyterian Church (Focusing on the Lay and the Theological Seminary)』).
Over the 140 years since the beginning of missionary work in Korea in 1884, the Korean Presbyterian Church has divided into various denominations. Because of these differences in theological spectrum and the diverse discussions on eschatology, it may be difficult to comprehensively discuss them all in a single book.
Following my research interests, I first devoted myself to the task of elucidating the eschatological tradition of Pyongyang Presbyterian Theological Seminary, and then to verifying the eschatological tradition of the systematic theologians of the Presbyterian Theological Seminary after liberation.
Therefore, it would be accurate to understand this book as a study of the eschatology of the Korean Presbyterian Church, focusing on the systematic theologians of Pyongyang Presbyterian Theological Seminary and Chongshin Theological Seminary.
