Brain-boosting Moscow Math Puzzles Level 1+2 Set
Description
Book Introduction
Since its publication in 1954, it has been greatly loved by mathematics enthusiasts around the world.
Boris A.
Set of Levels 1 and 2 of Kordemsky's masterpiece, "Moscow Math Puzzles for a Sexy Brain"
A Recreational Playbook for Math Enthusiasts
In the English-speaking world, 'fun math puzzles' became very popular in the 1900s thanks to the work of Henry Dewdney in the UK and Sam Lloyd and Martin Gardner in the US, and several related books were published, establishing themselves as a recreational playbook for intellectuals.
Even in Russia, a traditional mathematics powerhouse, math puzzles have created a huge boom, and are widely used in mathematics education for young people because they stimulate the brain and enhance creativity and logical thinking.
However, in Korea, math enthusiasts have been solving 'The Essence of Mathematics' again due to the lack of a proper advanced math puzzle book. Now, a book called the bible of classic math puzzles has been published.
『Moscow Math Puzzles that Make Your Brain Sexy』(Levels 1 and 2) is a book by Russian creative mathematics master Boris A.
This is the final edition of the mathematical puzzles published by Kordemsky.
This series consists of two volumes, Level 1 corresponding to the 'Beginner' level and Level 2 corresponding to the 'Intermediate/Advanced' level.
Volume 1 contains 216 problems out of a total of 359 problems, and the fun of solving puzzles is enhanced with beginner operations, shapes, matchsticks, dice and dominoes, and intermediate operations.
The 143 problems in Volume 2 are mainly mysterious and beautiful mathematical puzzles, such as incredibly fast mental arithmetic, mathematical reasoning to improve problem-solving skills, game theory to read opponents' numbers, magic squares, number crosswords, prime numbers, and Fibonacci sequence problems.
Both volumes are filled with shape puzzles, advanced calculations, and numerical codes that will make you want to pick up a pencil and tackle the challenge. As the level increases, they stimulate the reader's desire to challenge themselves. Trick problems that require a completely different approach to solve are appropriately mixed in, breaking the mold of hardened thinking and making the mind more flexible.

Publisher's Review
1.
Math Logic Index Testbook: Boost your creativity and logical thinking with fun math puzzles.
Many famous mathematicians have said in media interviews that the time they spent solving puzzles at home developed their mathematical thinking more than the time they spent in school math classes, and in fact, it is said that children who are good at puzzles are better at math.
As you become familiar with math through puzzle books and practice mathematical thinking while solving problems, you will find that statistics, probability, calculus, and functions, which once seemed difficult, become easier to solve than you thought.
In short, the mathematical logic index increases.
2.
A long-time Amazon bestseller in the math puzzle category, edited by math puzzle master Martin Gardner.
Since its publication in Russia under the Soviet system, the Russian edition alone sold over a million copies until the English edition came out in 1972, and it was also published in Ukraine, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Poland, Germany, France, China, and Japan, where it enjoyed great popularity.
Martin Gardner, a renowned American math puzzle editor, wrote a preface to the first English edition, calling this book "a complete collection of math puzzles with a surprising variety of problems."
It is a long-term bestseller, ranking between 2nd and 10th in the Amazon math puzzle category, and is greatly loved by readers because it is composed of a wonderfully diverse content that stimulates brain activity.
3.
A classic math puzzle with beautiful retro illustrations.
This book, which has maintained the beautiful Russian original illustrations from the 1950s, not only delivers the fun but also the warmth of the original, has long been well-received by Amazon readers as “a math puzzle book that parents solve and children solve again, a brain training book that is difficult but makes you feel refreshed after solving it, a book that shows the strength of Russia, a math powerhouse, a book that is highly effective in making students’ brains soft if you have them solve one problem at a time before high school math class.”
4.
A math expert proofreader and a PhD in mathematics reviewer will kindly explain ambiguous problems and answers.
This book has been loved for a long time, but some problems were difficult because the explanations only gave the key points so that the reader had to think more.
The book was specifically proofread by a math expert, reviewed by a doctor of science specializing in math, and explained in simpler terms. Issues that have been the subject of controversy on the Internet have been annotated.
It not only provides hints on how to approach the problem, but also provides perspectives on the problem and the order of solutions to increase the reader's understanding.
