Understanding Interior Drawings Again
Understanding Interior Drawings Again
Description
Book Introduction
Just because a drawing looks complicated doesn't mean the space is beautiful, and just because a drawing looks simple doesn't mean the space is simple.
When you read between the lines of the drawing with the designer's mind, you can see what the designer wanted to say when expressing the space, and how he expressed that important part in the drawing. Only then can you begin to see the space that emerges on the drawing.
Drawings are sophisticated tools and dense languages for reading space.
The devotion and persistence to that precise language are the responsibility of the drafter, and the craftsmanship to read and apply it accurately is the duty of the constructor.
A space where these two limping, disparate sounds can create a mistranslated space, like a mistranslated book, and the gap that may arise between them is the empathy that the designer and the builder must fill.
Although this book is short and its content and scope are somewhat limited and basic, I hope that it can serve as a lead for the vast wind instrument called drawing.

Since the purpose of this book is to fill in the gaps in practical knowledge, I felt it was necessary to mention real-world situations here and there, even if they deviate somewhat from the norm, rather than simply describing objectively verified knowledge.
This is something I struggled with throughout writing, as it was difficult to set boundaries on how much to mention.
Throughout the process of explaining the drawing, I tried to describe it while asking the question, "Why?"
If the approach is, "Just follow the instructions and read it," without any questioning as to why the drawings were drawn and expressed this way, there are so many related books that I don't even need to bother with them.
I hope this book will serve as a guide to help you understand the entire process of interior architecture, from planning to detailed design.
From the author's writings.
