Easy-to-Understand Color Anatomy Vol. 2
Easy-to-Understand Color Anatomy Vol. 2
Description
Book Introduction
Fortunately, medicine continues to advance, and diagnostic imaging is no exception.
Multidetector-row computed tomography (MCT) has now become the standard tool for cardiovascular imaging using CT or MRI.
This new edition of the “Pocket Atlas of Sectional Anatomy” recognizes these advances and includes additional images of the thoracic and current coronary artery images.
Multi-imaging has become the standard for vascular imaging, particularly for pelvic and lower extremity imaging.
As a result, more space was allocated to vascular imaging, which is presented in the Specialized MR Examinations and MR Angiography sections.
Of course, the improved resolution of the cross-sectional image allows for more detailed image display.
The multi-colored illustrations help ensure that this anatomy reference book remains easy to use.
The same anatomical structures are represented in the same colors throughout the book.
This allows users to see at a glance whether a structure is a blood vessel, nerve, muscle, or fluid, and easily identify specific organs.
Color also helps distinguish different muscle groups.
Color selection was derived from “Pocket Atlas of Sectional Anatomy III: Limbs, Joints, and Spine.”
We have retained the previous format of linking representative CT or MR images with correlated key color drawings on the front page.
As before, a small diagram is also provided.
The lung and liver segments and specific lymph node locations are conveniently listed on the back cover.
We attempted to follow established anatomical and clinical conventions for numbering mediastinal lymph nodes (according to the American Heart Association) and cardiovascular (according to the lung cancer classification system of the AJCC and UICC, and the color system for lymph nodes).
As with previous editions, these improvements would not have been possible without the help of many contributors.
We would like to thank our technicians Bill Kollick, Sabine Mathil, Stephanie Müller, Brigitte Schille, and Vigi Fiele from Silks, as well as Michaela Martin and Bernhard Klue from the Siemens Center for their continued passion for high-quality image production.
We also thank our colleagues Eberhard Bauer and Christopher Buntrue for providing us with high-resolution CT images.
Let me reiterate: we've put a lot of effort into every detail, and we hope you enjoy this book as much as we did.
