It is organized into two volumes, the upper and lower volumes, with a total of 16 chapters by field, including soil mechanics, foundation engineering, and rock mechanics.
The upper part consists of soil properties, compaction, permeability, ground stress and effective stress, consolidation, shear strength, earth pressure, and ground investigation, while the lower part consists of soil retaining wall, shallow foundation, deep foundation, slope stability, bedrock, soft ground and dredging and reclamation, tunnel, and seismic design.
In compiling this book, I focused on grouping together, as much as possible, related content by chapter, and, to help technicians in the field understand, I included a conclusion under the heading “Things to note when applying in practice” for each subheading.
