Into the book
“The egg will hatch soon.
We need to send Donggeul home quickly.
“Newborn babies need their mother’s care.”

While listening to Grandpa Turtle's story, the little boy's expression darkened.

“Mother’s care?”

Suddenly, the little boy thought of his mother.
This is what his own mother, whom he has never met, says.
All mother octopuses carefully care for their eggs until the babies are hatched.
And he protects the baby octopuses until his last breath.

“You don’t know my heart.
How difficult and heartbreaking it is because of your hands… … .
I also want to go to Chorong's general store.
“I think if I go there and get some gloves, I’ll feel more confident and my heart will hurt less.”

Geumbyeol's voice gradually became weaker and weaker.
The little boy, who was looking at the sight with pity, shouted loudly.

“Together, we can do it.
“Geumbyeol, we will go with you to the Black Mouth Valley.”

The little boy's expression was confident.

“Uh, us?”

“Oh my God!”

Pakkomi and Dalmang both closed their eyes tightly and touched their heads at the same time.

Then one day, the little boy discovered white powder falling from the sky.
It was whiter and lighter than salt.
Kkomung's heart pounded as he looked at the powder falling so heavily that his vision became blurry.

“Dalmang, let’s show this to our Ppakkomi.”

Kkomung and Dalmang came up to the sea with Ppakkom, who was not moving.
Then he showed me a world covered in white powder.

“Wow! This is snow!”

Pakkomi shouted excitedly.
I read it in a book once.
In winter, white, cold powder falls from the sky, and that is called snow.

Publisher's Review
“It’s more important to go together than to go quickly!”
The special friendship of the three octopus musketeers who are always together

All the exciting adventures in this book begin with a brave and curious little boy.
When Kkomungi is curious about something, his body moves first, and he is the main character who does not stay still when it comes to helping his neighbors and friends.
He decides to go to 'Padoman', a place famous for its rough waves, to find the parents of the egg he found by chance, and to go to a distant general store to solve his friend Geumbyeol's complex.
His friends Dalmang and Ppakkomi are worried about Kkomung's reckless challenge and nag him, but they are willing to go along because they cannot let Kkomung be in danger alone.

Brave Little One, cautious Dalmang, and smart Ppakkom complement each other's shortcomings and become even more united when faced with a crisis.
On the way to the general store, when a sandstorm occurs, they embrace each other using seashells as shields and become one body. When they pass over the snow-covered land, they hold each other's hands and walk.
Through 'Ppakkomi's Words', author Park Hyun-jung conveys to readers the value of friendship: even if it's slow, if you're with a friend, you can go further and create precious memories because you support each other.

“I don’t need gloves anymore.”
The story of Bulgasari's growth, turning "difference" into "specialness."

The second adventure features the octopus trio and their starfish friend, Geumbyeol.
The octopus trio go to a general store that has everything for Geumbyeol, who has a complex about her split hand.
But there, as Geumbyeol's split hand becomes very active, Geumbyeol realizes how special and precious her hand is.
The owner of the general store, Cholongagui, was able to remove the fishing line that was stuck in his neck thanks to Geumbyeol's torn hand.
The sight of Geumbyeol dancing on the festival stage without wearing gloves and just as she is is a great comfort and encouragement to readers who are struggling with their own complexes.

Additionally, the Golden Star episode makes readers feel responsible for environmental issues.
The reason why the golden star's hand was torn off and the life of the squid was in danger was because of marine debris such as fishhooks and barbs discarded by humans.
It shows the reality of marine life whose survival is threatened by reckless human actions, and awakens ecological sensitivity in readers.

'What will happen next?'
A fairy tale that stimulates the imagination and makes you want to read it all.

The adventures of the three octopus musketeers are filled with scenes that will make young readers laugh and turn the pages.
The events that unfold when Kkomung and Dalmang board the train together to help the listless Ppakkomi are a series of truly delightful commotions.
Dalmang carefully crawls under the seat to avoid human feet, Ppakkomi enters the snack vending machine and naturally calls out to his friends, and Kkomung gets tangled up in a thread and dangles from the shelf. The series of thrilling and comical situations unfolds one after another, providing unstoppable laughter.

The scene where the three octopus musketeers freely explore the train evokes delightful imagination and makes reading a joy for young readers.
In particular, the scene that causes the most commotion after entering the train bathroom, mistaking it for a secret place, is the most hilarious.
This delightful story is vividly conveyed through easy sentences and rhythmic expressions, and the lively and humorous illustrations by author Lee Su-hyeon further enhance the pleasure of reading.
This work helps even young children who are just beginning to read fairy tales to be able to read them all on their own.
