The Jewish worldview reveals how they achieved great things. It reveals the unique worldview of the Jews that stands out in human history. The Jews, the most persecuted people in the world, have been driven from their homeland for many years. Nevertheless, it has produced many Nobel Prize winners, is at the pinnacle of modern financial capitalism, and has become a leading force in Silicon Valley. We may find a clue as to what made the small and powerless Jews a powerful nation. |

Chapter 1 [Religious Views] We Must Live a Life Worthy of Being a Child of God
Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, is a day to commemorate the creation of humanity and a time for humanity to wash away their sins and be renewed.
This is why Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur are linked together.
Each year, the new year begins with repentance and forgiveness, strengthening and renewing Jewish solidarity.
Washing one's body on the eve of Rosh Hashanah and the Day of Atonement is a religious obligation that Jews must observe.
On Rosh Hashanah, when Jews begin the new year by getting clean, they hope to create a new world in their lives.
--- p.23
Because humans were created in the image of God, God has expectations of them.
So, in Judaism, it is a sin not to live a life worthy of being a child of God.
The sin is ‘laziness’ and ‘incompetence’ that do not do one’s best with the given possibilities.
Anyone who does not believe in the potential of their future and neglects self-improvement is sinning against God.
To become an incompetent person by not discovering the talents God has given you and not doing your best to develop them is to sin against God.
Therefore, for Jews, faith is an effort to develop oneself by finding the image of God within oneself.
--- p.42
Chapter 2 [Economics] As children of God, the blessing is the accumulation of wealth.
The fateful union of fish and chips was created by a Jew named Joseph Malin.
He combined the two cuisines and opened the world's first fish and chips shop, Malin's, in East London, a district of textile mills, around 1860.
Fish and chips was the first British fast food available for takeaway, sold wrapped in newspaper.
Plus, the price was cheap.
The reason fish and chips could be sold at a low price was because the Industrial Revolution gave rise to railroads, which made it possible to transport seafood faster, and the development of cotton textiles led to an abundance of cheap cottonseed oil made from cottonseed.
--- p.106~108
The area given to the tribe of Joseph included the area northeast of Tel Aviv.
Ruskin wondered what the 'specialty product of the ancient mountains' might be.
He wondered if this passage, from the commentary of the medieval sage Rashi, might be referring to the Paleozoic highlands before they were transformed into their present form.
This was a surprising discovery.
Then Ruskin seemed to understand this passage from the Bible.
The abundance of the sea is natural gas, the treasure hidden in the sand is shale oil, and in particular, the treasure of the 'Gibbot Olam (Eternal Garden)' is likely to be crude oil.
--- p.145
Chapter 3 [Children's Education] As children of God, each of us has been given different talents.
For Jews who have pursued this way of life since ancient times, the unity of community members was naturally more important than anything else.
This is how the 'Jewish ring theory' emerged.
This has become a life principle emphasized in the Jewish faith, and Jews have come to live with responsibility for one another.
This emphasized that not only I, but all of my people should live well together, meaning that even though Jews are scattered all over the world, they are all united as one big family.
--- p.156~157
Even when life throws up difficult challenges, if parents respond with patience and composure, their children, who witness this, will also develop a firm resolve and strong will to overcome the ordeal.
It gives children the belief that no matter how difficult life may be, family happiness can never be taken away.
Children become more self-aware and mature when they see their parents navigating life with strong will.
The future of a family depends on how parents deal with difficulties.
If you handle adversity well, difficult circumstances can actually promote family unity and camaraderie.
Adversity is a very good thing for raising children.
--- p.191
Chapter 4 [Pioneer] Living to the Fullest of Your Potential as a Child of God
The characteristic of Jews is that they do everything 'together'.
Simons also attracted some genius colleagues.
In 1979, he recruited mathematician Leonard Baum, who had worked with him on decryption, and fellow Stony Brook professor James X.
By trading forex with them, I started to create investment models by finding meaningful patterns in the market, just like when deciphering cryptocurrencies.
The $3 million raised was turned into tens of millions of dollars before the investment model was even finalized.
After that, we expanded our trading items and invested in raw materials and bond futures.
They gathered market data and eventually created a mathematical investment model.
--- p.214~215
Sam Altman was born in 1985 to a Jewish family in Chicago.
When he was eight, his parents bought him a Macintosh computer, the Ferrari of the computer world.
This computer decided his fate.
He entered Stanford University's Department of Computer Science in 2003, but dropped out in his second year and started his own business.
Altmann founded Luft, a social networking service that connects users with people around them, and sold it in 2012 before joining Y Combinator, one of the world's top venture capital firms.
Since then, at the age of 28, Altman has been selected as the CEO of Y Combinator and has invested in and supported over 2,000 startups.
--- p.237
Chapter 5 [National View] Returning to the Promised Land as Children of God
Israel, founded in 1948, started out as a socialist state centered on collective farms (kibbutzim).
Since ancient times, Jews have lived with the idea of 'earning according to one's ability and sharing according to one's needs.'
This was the community's code of conduct for surviving the diaspora wanderings for over 2,000 years.
The Israeli kibbutz, which was founded based on this idea, was based on sharing production facilities and distribution.
It was close to communist methods.
The government was also the leader of the socialist planned economy and the maker of monetary policy.
In the 1980s, as the country became integrated into the global economy amidst the wave of globalization, the planned economy no longer worked.
In 1984, the year Simon became prime minister, inflation soared to a staggering 400 percent.
--- p.264
Israel is the only country in the world that has changed its national character and economic direction.
It started out as a socialist country, but in the late 1980s it adopted capitalism and a market economy system.
When the border blockade was lifted on December 26, 1991, following the collapse of the Soviet Union, about one million highly educated Russian Jews flooded into this newly capitalist country.
About 23 percent of them were scientists, most of whom had worked in Soviet state research institutes.
At that time, Israel's population was 5 million and unemployment was high.
The emigration of Russian Jews was a momentous event that determined the fate of the nation.
The Office of the Chief Scientist of Israel decided to commercialize their high level of scientific knowledge and technological prowess, and with the cooperation of American Jewish organizations, established 24 technology incubators throughout Israel and launched a technology startup incubation program.
We provide support of up to $800,000 for at least two years to promising ideas.

Publisher's Review
If your worldview is different, your philosophy and attitude toward life will be completely different!
Into the history that shaped the Jewish worldview
When did humanity first have a day of rest? According to the Bible, God created the Sabbath, and the Jews began resting accordingly.
So does everyone rest on Sunday? Islam rests on Friday, Judaism rests on Saturday, and Christianity rests on Sunday.
Originally, the Sabbath of all three religions was Saturday, the same day as the Jewish Sabbath.
However, the Roman Empire banned the Sabbath of the rebellious Jews and united the Christians and the sun god Apollo worshippers into a single religion, forcing them to worship on Sunday.
When the Jews refused to convert, Islam rejected Judaism and moved the day of worship to Friday.
How can we go to heaven after death? The three religions also have different views on salvation.
Christianity believes that human sins are atoned for by believing in Jesus Christ, who died on the cross with his blood.
Muslims believe that if they do good and righteous deeds, they can go to heaven.
Jews believe that they will be saved if they follow the law and do good deeds.
Judaism has no idea of original sin.
Sin is not being faithful to the present and not living a life worthy of being a child of God.
For Jews, faith is an effort to develop oneself by finding the image of God within oneself.
How do Jews not give up on their children, even when they're labeled retarded? Born to a German Jewish family, Einstein was labeled retarded due to poor academic performance and was even told he had no chance of success in anything he did.
But Einstein's mother said, "You have a great quality that other children in the world don't have.
So, he encouraged his son by saying, “There are things in this world that only you can handle, waiting for you,” and tried to find unique talents in him that were different from others, not just the best.
There was a Jewish belief that God gave each person a talent appropriate to their soul so that they could live a worthy and holy life in the world.
This mother's belief led Einstein to books and discussions, and his logical and creative research, combined with imagination, led to the great achievement of taking a step closer to the truth of the universe.
Humans have a responsibility and duty to create a better world.
What is the purpose of Jewish life? When asked at a Jewish bar mitzvah what the purpose of life is, the answer is "Tikkun Olam."
Jews believe that God created the world, but that it is not yet fully created, and that humans must work with God to improve the world.
This is Tikkun Olam.
As God's co-workers, humans have a responsibility and duty to assist God in His creative work and make this world a better place.
This is also related to the fact that many successful Jewish entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley have a vision of making the world a utopia.
It is noteworthy that it is in line with our nation's founding ideology, 'Hongik Ingan', which seeks to benefit humanity.
Develop the talents you received from God and become a unique being.
Jews want to be unique and different from others.
Because I believe that God has given each person different talents.
Therefore, child education is also focused on helping children become unique beings rather than the best.
Best can be only one student in the class, but Unique can be any student.
With this educational philosophy, actual Jews grow into outstanding figures in their respective fields.
To be incompetent, not believing in one's own potential for the future and not discovering and developing the talents God has given us, is to sin against God.
For Jews, faith is an effort to discover and develop the image and talents of God within oneself.

Pioneer: Live to the fullest extent possible with the potential given to you as a child of God.
Even during the medieval Crusades, they faced mass murder, exile, and forced isolation in ghettos, but instead of giving in to despair, they lived to the fullest extent possible as children of God.
The spirit of 'Tikkun Olam', of helping God and improving the world even in difficult circumstances, became the goal and pioneering spirit of Jewish life.
