Into the book
“There is a growing trend, especially among the MZ generation, to enjoy the rural atmosphere without giving up city life, and this demand is growing the healing agriculture market,” he said.
The 'rustic life' trend, which is popular among the MZ generation these days, can be interpreted in a similar context.
Rustic living is a phenomenon that seeks to enjoy rural life while also having the conveniences of city life.
The generation that prefers '5do2chon' (living in the city for 5 days a week and living in a second home in the countryside for 2 days), 'bulmyeong' (gazing blankly at a wood fire), and 'paddy field view' but still has a strong desire to not give up the cultural life of the city is leading the trend change.
--- p.19 From “Chapter 1 New Rural Resources, Healing Agriculture”

According to the Rural Development Administration, the number of domestic therapeutic agriculture facilities remained stagnant at 234 in 2020, but increased to 254 in 2021 as the pandemic began to spread, and is expected to increase to 353 in 2022.

Healing forests utilizing forest resources are also on the rise.
According to the Korea Forest Service, a total of 48 healing forests have been created and are in operation across the country.
Among the healing agriculture facilities across the country, there are many hidden healing farms that enhance healing effects with high-quality programs.

This chapter carefully selects and introduces healing agricultural facilities that have won awards at the Rural Development Administration's Healing Farm Competition, been selected as wellness tourism destinations by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and received recommendations from the Rural Development Administration, individual local governments, and the Korea Forest Service.
--- p..40 From "Chapter 2: Where is the Healing Playground for City People?"

There is a growing practical need to increase the population and prevent regional extinction.
It is expected that healing agriculture, located between rural and urban areas, will play a role here.
Even if the actual residence is in a metropolitan area, expanding the economic activity area of the people by encouraging new mental and physical activities, such as healing agriculture, can be an alternative to revitalizing the local economy and domestic demand.

In fact, recently, there are signs of an increase in the population due to the development of rural areas in Korea.
Representative examples include Yangyang in Gangwon Province, which has become popular as a mecca for the marine tourism industry, especially among the younger generation, and Danyang in North Chungcheong Province, which has emerged as a hub for rural study abroad.

Publisher's Review
A Healing Travel Guide for Weary City People

Everyone needs healing.
A person cannot live with only wounds.
But the process of living is a series of wounds.
At work, at home, and at school, people bump into each other, cry, get hurt, and fall.
You can't avoid getting hurt.
What's important is the process of healing rather than the wound itself.
In it, we gain new immunity and also the nutrients that allow us to face further wounds with dignity.

It is natural that a weary nation is turning its attention to healing activities that soothe their wounded hearts.
The number of healing agriculture facilities nationwide has grown significantly since the pandemic, reaching 353, a whopping 50% increase over the past five years.
The number of healing forests that utilize forest resources to soothe the minds and bodies of citizens has increased to 48.
Recently, the healing industry is rapidly expanding with the emergence of marine healing facilities that utilize the sea to boost immunity.
