This is a lifestyle book that teaches you how to live happily in your own way by applying what you have learned from walking the Camino de Santiago, a pilgrimage that many people dream of on their bucket lists, four times to your life.
I have been on the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage in Spain four times since 2008, and founded Cafe Albergue in 2015.
Cafe Albergue, currently located in Seochon, Seoul, has become a holy place for pilgrims on the Way to Santiago.
What is the Santiago lifestyle?
While walking the Camino de Santiago, I answered countless questions and gained insight from my life experiences. While running Cafe Albergue for eight years, I met and talked with many pilgrims, and based on my own and their experiences, I discovered a life that is like walking the Camino de Santiago.
Even if I can't make the Camino de Santiago, I decided to apply the insights I gained there to my life and live happily, in my own way, at my own pace, in the direction I want, through my experiences and trial and error.
Living each day happily and joyfully, as if walking the Camino de Santiago.
He defined this way of life as the 'Santiago Lifestyle'.

Into the book
I still vividly remember the excitement of the first night I arrived in Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Foud, the starting point of the Camino de Santiago, via Paris, France.
The one step I took into the unknown world of 800km over 30 days completely changed the direction of my life.
As I walked and walked every day, I questioned the purpose of my life, and the road answered me with more questions.
It has allowed me to experience all the joys and sorrows of life, and has allowed me to meet countless pilgrims from all over the world and find answers.
In a time when language was not common and there were no smartphones, people on the street could understand, comfort, and love each other through the language of the road and the language of the heart.
In the great experience of my first pilgrimage to Santiago, I learned about the purpose of my life, life, death, and love.
And I walked my own pilgrimage towards a new direction in life.
---From "Walking the Camino de Santiago Four Times"
The center of Santiago's lifestyle is 'me'.
The Santiago lifestyle is how I decide to live happily in my own way.
The YOLO lifestyle, which is a lifestyle that lives only for today, or the FIRE lifestyle, which dreams of early retirement, can also be seen as lifestyles that are centered around 'me'.
The difference between the Santiago lifestyle that I define and the one that I live by is that I focus on whether or not there is a destination for realizing my values, 'Compostela', and on the process of moving towards that Compostela.
---From "Santiago Lifestyle: Living Like Walking the Camino de Santiago"
When I said I was going to walk the Camino de Santiago, everyone around me asked why I was going through such a difficult time.
He told me to go to a resort and rest comfortably.
They also interfered with my decisions, guiding me to choose a stable future over an uncertain one.
If I had gone to a resort, I might have had a more comfortable and happy time.
But when I came back from there, nothing would have changed and I would have looked forward to the day when I could taste the sweetness of the resort again.
---From "Becoming the Subject of Decision at the Crossroads of Choice"
I think everyone has their own path.
Discovering that path and walking it is also your own choice.
There are no good or bad roads, there are just roads.
But there will definitely be many thorny paths ahead for me to do what I want to do.
If you're not mentally prepared to break through that thorny path, then maybe this isn't the life you truly want.
But if you persevere through the thorny path, you will learn more about what you like, what you are good at, and who you are.
