A trip to our country's cities with a geography teacher, part 3
A trip to Korea's cities with a geography teacher, part 3
Description
Book Introduction
The National Geography Teachers' Association's "City Stories for Future Generations" is finally complete!
Following the 24 cities in Volume 1 and the 17 cities in Volume 2, we'll delve into the geography, history, and culture of 20 of Korea's representative cities in a new way!

The standard for a city in our country is a township (population of 20,000 or more).
More than 90 percent of our country's population is urban.
A city is not just a space; it is also a place that constantly grows, declines, and changes, leaving traces of history and life behind.
If you know these cities well, you can understand the geography, history, and culture of South Korea at a glance.
『Traveling Our Cities with Geography Teachers 3』, written by teachers from the National Geography Teachers Association, is the final installment of the 『Traveling Our Cities』 series, which has garnered attention for introducing the geography, history, and culture of Korea's representative cities in a friendly and fun way.
This third volume covers the geography, history, and culture of 20 cities: Seoul (Gangnam and Hangang, Euljiro-Myeongdong), Suwon, Ansan, Goyang, Yanggu, Sokcho, Pyeongchang, Cheonan and Asan, Seosan and Taean, Chungju, Gochang and Jeongeup, Naju, Mokpo, Yeosu, Gyeongju, Ulsan, and Changwon.
Continuing the series' theme, current geography teachers personally visit each city and provide detailed and friendly explanations of the city's spatial characteristics, historical changes, and the unique local culture formed in the process.
Because it introduces cities representing South Korea, you will naturally travel around South Korea while reading the book.
Not only spatially, but also temporally, it allows for a view of the past, present, and even the future.
If the first volume of the series discussed 'urban regeneration' and 'fair travel', and the second volume focused on travel that showcased the city's 'individuality' and 'diversity', this third volume introduces the 'changes' the city has undergone and its 'vision' for the future, making it a truly humanities travel book for future generations.
It covers the unique natural environment of each city, the geographical and historical processes through which the city was formed and changed, the meaning and value of must-see attractions, and the current issues facing each city.
It is also perfect as a travel guide as it provides a thorough introduction to the region as well as a humanities-based understanding of Korea's history, geography, and culture.

Publisher's Review
A fascinating geography and humanities textbook that is also a travel book that you can study!
- A travel book that will help you learn, completed by 25 geography teachers who traveled to 59 cities across the country over 5 years!
-The best textbook for mastering Korean geography.

In particular, since this book is a Korean geography textbook written by current geography teachers, it is also an extremely useful book for students studying 'Korean geography'.
Over the past five years, 25 teachers from the National Geography Teachers Association have traveled to 59 cities across the country to complete the book.
By following the friendly geography teacher's explanations, you will naturally acquire a sense of geography and easily learn various geography terms with real-life examples.
You can fill your head with information about the formation of strata that were previously considered hard and the geographical characteristics of each region, as if you were taking a trip.

Seoul, which was once Hanyang and Gyeongseong and then transformed into a global metropolis; Sokcho, where the longing of displaced people became the impetus for its transformation into a tourist city; and Changwon, where Masan and Jinhae merged to form a new integrated city. You can encounter the changes and future visions of each city, which are like living organisms.
Rather than remaining the same, you can vividly experience the ever-changing nature of the city, experiencing prosperity and decline, and then making another leap forward.

This is the perfect geography and humanities textbook for readers who want to delve deeper into the environment and living spaces we live in, opening up new perspectives on the environment and space.

Above all, it is easy to read because it explains things in a friendly, non-stiff, guide-like manner.
You can also experience it vividly visually through photos, map illustrations, etc.
It not only covers geography and history, but also addresses pressing issues and current affairs in our society related to the region, functioning as a comprehensive humanities textbook.
At the same time, it does not miss out on introducing the region's unique natural environment, local festivals, and food, so it can be used as a 'travel book that educates the whole family.'
Through this book, you will gain a comprehensive understanding of Korean geography, learn a new way of understanding space that takes future generations into account, and reflect on the very foundations of our lives.

'City Tour with a Geography Teacher' is also great for planning a city tour.
You can find your own meaning by reading each volume in order, but you can also start with a chapter that catches your eye, such as a city you like, a city you've always wanted to visit, or the city you currently live in or a neighboring city.
In any case, you will be able to gain a deeper understanding and richer knowledge of our country.
