Book Introduction
Barcelona for Lifestyle Creators
Choi Yeon-jeong and Choi Ji-min, authors of [A Paris], which led a new travel trend by suggesting 'living in one city for a month', have now included '30 days spent in Barcelona, Spain' in their book.
The older sister, Choi Yeon-jeong, who draws and cooks, and the younger sister, Choi Ji-min, who takes pictures and touches flowers, share their emotional daily lives through social media, and people are amazed by their talent and sensibility.
As you follow the spaces introduced in the book, you will be able to satisfy your curiosity about where creative people play, how they rest, and what inspires them.
This book tells us that for those of us who are pressured into believing that a full day is a rewarding day, we absolutely need 'margin in life' and 'lazy time.'
While it's fun to explore Barcelona's hidden gems curated through their eyes, these travel stories, which mirror our own lives, also offer the realization that "life is a series of variables, and the process of resolving them holds greater meaning."

Into the book
We went for a walk around this neighborhood every day around sunset.
It was quite fascinating to see the daily lives of people who came home from work, went shopping, or walked briskly, or gathered in small groups of three or four to drink beer and chat noisily.
Is there any greater joy in travel than wandering around unfamiliar places among unfamiliar people?
Maybe that's the biggest reason to travel.
--- p.25
Barcelona is an interesting city even just to look at with its shutters down.
It's just amazing that no two shutters are the same.
Each one has its own personality and story.
Just looking at the picture and imagining what kind of story might be inside the shutter is endlessly enjoyable.
--- p.64
Beauty and hospitals are obviously a combination that should never go together, but the moment I saw Sanpau Hospital, I laughed and thought, 'That thought was also a prejudice.'
The hospital's interior is decorated with a variety of gorgeous tiles and sculptures inspired by nature, including beautiful flowers. The windows throughout the building allow nature to be brought inside, creating a sense of harmony.
It was a time of gratitude just to be able to fully appreciate the buildings of famous architects who made Barcelona what it is today.
--- p.110
No matter which alley or street you walk down, Barcelona is filled with tall, green trees and warm sunlight.
That's why we love this place.
--- p.139
The day I checked out of Hotel Brummel, my steps felt heavy, perhaps because of the music playing in the hotel.
I had coffee and pain au chocolat while looking through the last tourist paper I received and the collection of Mies van der Rohe's works that I had seen yesterday.
While waiting for a taxi, I thought, 'Regret is just another beginning.'
Even after returning to Korea, I listen to the music list 'Brumell Music Brumell' selected by Hotel Brummell once a month.
I am receiving 'Music' by email.
Today, as I listen to that music, my mind wanders around the Brummel.
--- p.184
After three weeks, I now feel brave enough to face the hot sun.
When I first arrived, I applied sunscreen all over my body.
Even at the beach, I was in a hurry to hide under the parasol.
But as time went by, I started to let it go little by little.
Soon, their whole bodies were tanned, and they looked at each other's makeup-free faces and laughed.
But this darkly tanned body also looked cool.
Of course, I was worried about what would happen if I got freckles, but as time went by, I stopped caring about that and started enjoying the hot Mediterranean sun.
--- p.215
The results of a trip can vary depending on how much information you gather in advance and how thoroughly you prepare.
But sometimes it's quite interesting to just go with whatever your feet take you and your heart tells you to do without any plans.
--- p.226
Barcelona is very comfortable compared to other cities.
I wondered why that might be.
The entire city is like a giant botanical garden, with greenery everywhere you look.
Maybe that's why it wasn't easy to find a flower shop.
A plant of the type that was said to be hot in all kinds of magazines was taking up a corner of the veranda here.
Just walking around and looking around, there were so many things I wanted to capture in photos and see with my own eyes.
That's why walks here are always enjoyable.
--- p.261
Was this time called "the hour of dog and wolf"? This phrase comes from the French phrase "L'heure entre chien etloup," meaning sunset.
It is called the time of the dog and the wolf, meaning that the world is dyed red and you cannot tell whether the silhouette approaching over the hill is your dog or a wolf coming to harm you.
This is my favorite time of day.
As I looked at the sky shining through the gaps, which were not clear whether they were red or blue, I thought that living here might not be so bad.
--- p.295
Around the time I needed a siesta in my life, we left for Barcelona.
If a siesta is a nap to help you endure the hot summer, a month in Barcelona is
It was a sweet nap-like time for us who had been running breathlessly for a year.
Barcelona's hot summer welcomed us with open arms, and the smiles of the people and the liveliness of the streets seemed to welcome us.
All the food was delicious, and no matter how far we walked, our senses were never still.
The people were friendly, and no matter where you walked in Barcelona, there was always something new to discover.
Barcelona, despite having so much, shows off its beauty in its simple daily life rather than showing it off.
--- p.306
As soon as I arrived in Barcelona, I threw off my heavy clothes and walked wherever my feet took me.
I didn't want to be conscious of my surroundings, and I didn't need to be.
I walked and walked until my whole body was completely tanned, wearing nothing but makeup.

Publisher's Review
A trip that's "my own," not "like everyone else's."
The travel atmosphere has changed a lot.
Just a few years ago, renting a local house and staying as if it were your own home was not common, but now quite a few people prefer this type of travel concept.
In the past, travel information was the property of a select few, but now, with so much information available, you can simply select and choose only what suits your tastes.
The problem is that there is too much information being shared.
If a place is recommended by someone with similar tastes, it seems more trustworthy.
This book introduces hidden places in Barcelona selected by creative sisters who love flowers, plants, walking, art, and gourmet food, based on their own tastes.
This would be a good reference for those who are curious about the 'place' that keeps their senses awake for even a moment, or who want to truly feel the present of Barcelona.
Why Barcelona, Spain?
We often hear that Paris, once a woman's dream, has become a tourist destination and that it no longer has the same atmosphere as before.
So these days, the number of people turning their attention to southern France or Spain has increased significantly.
Spain, once remembered only as the 'country of soccer' due to its famous soccer team, has recently been receiving a lot of attention as it has become the setting for a popular travel program.
It also frequently appears in hot magazines.
It is a charming country that has a similar feel to France due to its proximity to France, but also has its own unique culture strangely mixed in.
The people are friendly, the prices are low, and there's an abundance of delicious food to suit our tastes.
Even within Barcelona, each area has a different feel, such as the atmosphere of Seongsu-dong in Seoul or Yeonnam-dong in Seoul, and it is a place with such fresh nature that the book describes it as “a giant botanical garden in its entirety.”
Just turning the pages of this book will make you feel like you're being summoned to that place for a moment, and simply appreciating the spaces curated through their eyes will likely inspire you.
