Book Introduction
This biographical work comprehensively summarizes the lives and activities of 63 historical figures who left significant marks on Korean history. It was produced in a new format, offering more detailed records of the historical figures' deeds and including related materials and evaluations of the individuals themselves.
A total of 63 people from ancient to modern Korean history were included, arranged chronologically based on each person's year of birth.
The life, activities and achievements, historical evaluation, research status, issues, and reference materials of each person are organized to reveal the entire person's picture, and the simple writing style makes it easy for the general public to understand.
This book was conceived to commemorate the retirement of Professor Han Yeong-woo, who served in the Department of Korean History at Seoul National University for over 30 years and retired at the end of August 2003, and is intended to serve as a stepping stone for the study of Korean history.
