Description
Book Introduction
The essence of education is to lead effective learning through students' active participation and interest.
Modern education utilizes a variety of teaching methods and learning tools to achieve these goals, and board games are gaining recognition as a unique and powerful educational tool.
Starting in 2022, our Gyeongbuk Play Curriculum Research Association began focusing on the educational value and applicability of board games in elementary education.
Currently, around 40 active elementary school teachers are gathered together to research teaching methods using board games, share their expertise, and provide feedback to each other.
We have also actively participated in various educational projects and events related to this topic, accumulating practical application experience in the educational field.

Learning through games has the potential to naturally spark students' interest, encourage active participation, and enhance a range of cognitive and social skills.
We aim to leverage the strengths of these board games to create diverse, student-centered play classes, ultimately contributing to a happy classroom for both students and teachers.
This book is based on research conducted by our research group over many years and practical classroom application experiences.
We delved deeply into how board games can be effectively incorporated into classroom instruction across a variety of subjects and what educational benefits they can achieve.

This book's primary audience is current elementary school teachers and all educators interested in using board games in their classes.
In particular, this book is composed of specific and practical content so that even readers who are not familiar with board games can immediately apply board games to their classes.
Through this book, we aim to introduce readers to practical teaching methods using board games, providing specific methods and tips that can be immediately applied in the classroom.
It also details how learning through board games can improve students' critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
We hope this book will be of practical help to educators and, furthermore, contribute to enriching students' learning experiences.
We hope that this learning journey through board games will be a source of enjoyment and growth for you and your students, ultimately helping to create a happy classroom for everyone.
