Beyond the limitations of fragmented knowledge acquisition education, towards comprehensive understanding!

A blended class is a class where multiple subjects work together to cover a single topic.
Today, with the emphasis on competency-based education, a variety of convergence classes based on cross-subject integration are being attempted.
Integrated learning not only fosters problem-solving and creative thinking skills related to specific topics across academic disciplines, but also fosters the capacity to adapt to future society beyond the acquisition of fragmented knowledge, fostering a comprehensive understanding of oneself, one's neighbors, society, and the world.
The examples of 'village-integrated integrated classes' included in this book are examples of democratic citizenship education that fosters a sense of community belonging and enhances participation, and are stories of classes in which students, together with the community, pondered and practiced the environmental, ecological, and sustainable development of the community.

Learning can happen anywhere, but most classes take place in the classroom.
Village-integrated integrated classes expand the scope of learning beyond the walls of the classroom and the school fence, connecting students to their lives.
Korean language is a subject that deals with the language of life.
Language has the power to bring people together, to build relationships, and to make sense of the world.
When Korean language classes go beyond the classroom and connect with the community, language also becomes more powerful.
The village elders, the market vendors, the local library and park, the local history and nature all become texts for the class.
Textbooks are expanded and students begin to read about the village.

The Korean language-centered, village-integrated integrated class introduced in this book is a new attempt where life and subjects, village and learning intersect.
It contains the process of uncovering local stories through literature, capturing the voices of villagers through interviews and records, and returning the learning back to the village through presentations, performances, and book publications.
In this process, students can ponder and explore the questions, "Who am I, and what significance do I have in this village?" and, further, "What kind of person should I be in this village?"
Students are transformed from passive listeners to active explorers who transform their lives and grow society through learning.
Lessons cannot be confined to the classroom.
A single step into the village will expand the boundaries of your curriculum, transform your students' lives, and bring your lessons to life.


A Guide to Korean Language Classes Where Teachers and Students Grow Together
Hand-in-Hand Korean Class Series

The starting point of this series is the 'High School Credit System'.
At a time when teachers were lacking in awareness and preparation for the high school credit system, I thought it would be helpful to have a teaching guide that would ease the burden of having to design individual lesson plans and create their own lesson plans.
The discussion that started there continued to the ‘essence of Korean language classes.’
The conclusion was that teachers need to have a proper understanding of the philosophy and meaning of their classes in order to set the right direction for their classes and develop specific methods.

The 'Hand-in-Hand Korean Class' series is a 'Korean language class guide' planned and created by veteran Korean language teachers who hope for better Korean language education.
The books in this series build on the previous conclusions and are organized into two parts: 'Why?' and 'How?'
Part 1, “Why?”, explains the reasons and meaning of teaching the class from the perspective of a Korean language teacher.
By discussing concerns about classes, the current state of education, the learning focus outlined in the curriculum, and the expected outcomes of classes (such as students' language skills and contributions to their lives), the book aims to motivate teachers who read the book and help them set class goals.


Part 2, "How?" presents a variety of classroom examples that can empower students by making them the protagonists of their own classes.
A fun and meaningful class, a class where students and teachers grow together, a class that helps students live happier lives now and in the future, a class that promotes human maturity beyond textbooks and tests…
Based on the teaching practices of veteran Korean language teachers who have long, intensely contemplated and practiced in schools and achieved their own successes, you will be able to discover the path to "better Korean language education."


Starting with 『Short Story Writing Class』, 『START-UP Literacy Class』, 『Non-Fiction Class』, 『Novel Reading Class』, 『Autobiography Class using Picture Books』, and 『Village-Combined Fusion Class』, six books have been published.
Going forward, we plan to consistently publish teaching guides that will assist Korean language teachers in designing their classes, including "Vocabulary Class," "Grammar Class," "Discussion Class," "Concept-Based Inquiry Class," "Media Class," "Literature Class," and "Korean Language Class Philosophy."
