A country where the people have power, a country where the people read the constitution.

Meet the Constitution of the Republic of Korea in a pocketbook that's easy to carry on your way to and from work or school.
You who read the Constitution are the nation!

“The Republic of Korea is a democratic republic.”
This is Article 1, Chapter 1 of the Constitution.

But is South Korea truly a democratic republic? Does sovereignty reside in the people, and does power emanate from them? South Korea was once a model of democracy in Asia.
However, due to military dictatorship, the country was once branded as a country with poor human rights record for several decades.
Nevertheless, the Constitution of the Republic of Korea is evolving day by day, starting with the peaceful transfer of power through elections, the separation of powers system that condemns corruption, and the public opinion expressed through the Candlelight Revolution. Even amidst the global crisis of COVID-19, democracy, through a mature civic consciousness, is reminding us once again that the Republic of Korea is a democratic republic in 2021.

Law is a standard established by individuals to create a society and a nation and to live together.
Among them, the Constitution is the basis and root of all laws, the law of laws, guarantees the fundamental rights of the people, and reveals the identity of the nation.
And the state has a duty to enforce everything under the Constitution.
But because this is not properly observed, society collapses, humanity disappears, and violence, discrimination, and oppression run rampant.
To escape from this society, we must live by the Constitution and create a country that operates according to the Constitution.
But how many of us have actually read the Constitution from beginning to end? Most people only know fragmentary details like freedom of assembly and association and that power emanates from the people. Most people haven't read it properly or even have access to its full text.
The so-called rulers and those in power say they work for the people, but in reality, they have never been their servants, but rather have reigned as the masters of the people.

If you want to find your place as the owner of power guaranteed by the Constitution and live as a human being with dignity, you must first read the Constitution.
Nothing can be done without reading the Constitution, which is the root of everything, the key to solving problems, the basis for criticism, and the milestone indicating the direction to go forward.
Now, to find your rights, democracy, and dignity, you must start by reading the Constitution.
The Human's 2021 mini-book, "The Constitution of the Republic of Korea," serves as a bridge to convey the spirit of the Constitution to readers by simultaneously including the English version along with the full text of the Constitution.
It also features a luxurious gold-plated edition that enhances the value of the Constitution, the highest law.

“In the national legal order, the Constitution is at the highest level of positive law.

“The constitution stabilizes the overall norms of the nation.”
Hans Kelsen (founder of pure jurisprudence)
