《Color Fantasy》 is a diary of colors written by artist Ha Tae-im over the past 20 years while going back and forth between life and art, and a record of her journey as an artist.
From the moment she gave birth to her first child in 1999 to her most recent work notes in 2023, the artist has been transforming the "emotions of life" into the "language of color."

Beginning from the perspective of a young mother raising a child, this book continues with the inner reflections of an artist who has endured the passage of time, blurring the lines between "living" and "painting."
In the work notes, there are tremors of the heart more delicate than the movements of the brush tip, and in the travel scenery, there flows the warmth of a being that has temporarily put aside the weight of life.
“When blue meets pink, the garden of the heart opens.”

In those fleeting scenes where colors and emotions intersect, readers will soon discover their own color.
The colors of life and art, love and waiting, and memories.
Ha Tae-im's first collection of essays is a narrative of color that permeates an artist's life, and a quiet mirror that reflects the inner selves of all of us.

Publisher's Review
“Color was another name for emotion to me.”

Ha Tae-im is a painter who has been consistently exploring the ‘action of color’ since the early 2000s.
He has been recording the times and emotions he has experienced through the process of building up and destroying colors on the screen.
《Color Fantasy》 is his first work written in words, and another work completed outside the canvas.

Chapter 1 calmly unfolds her life as a woman, a mother, and a teacher.
Chapter 2 shows the inner thoughts of an artist who thinks about color through his work notes.
In Chapter 3, we ask ourselves again about the 'origin of color' through the landscapes and people we encounter while traveling to various cities around the world.
The final four chapters express the fundamental emotions of existence, such as death, relationships, waiting, and gratitude, through color, proving that art is ultimately a hymn to 'being alive.'

His sentences are neat and restrained, yet they are imbued with the light of countless seasons.
Even when he wasn't painting, he was still a 'colorist'.
A confession from an artist who rediscovered himself through life, art, and color.
《Color Fantasy》 asks us:

“What color is your heart now?”
