Elle Deco Korea: Book Edition THE KITCHENS
A place that opens the beginning of the day and closes the end of the day.
Where the temperature of fire, the feel of the hand, and the sound and scent of the ingredients intersect.
This winter issue of Elle Deco talks about 'The Kitchens'.
Although the form has changed over time, the questions contained within have remained constant.
"What should a space for a better life look like?" The historical scenes that have shaped the kitchen are not simply changes in design, but records of experiments that reconstructed our way of life.
Just as Charlotte Perriand designed a kitchen that broke down the boundaries between the living room and the kitchen, and Joe Colombo presented a form of space liberation and mobile living through his 'mini kitchen'.
If the modern kitchen has evolved through the language of "efficiency and hygiene," today's kitchen has been redefined through the language of emotion, taste, and relationships by various kitchen brands with long histories.
The kitchen is a place where we satisfy our fundamental need for food, but it is also a stage where life's emotions ferment.
We shared the most vivid stories about the kitchen with Sweet Edition CEO Lee So-young, Salon de Cook CEO Kim Yu-seon, food influencer Yang Ji-mi, and Wild Duck Canteen CEO Kim Su-min.
This month's cover story features Harry Nuriev, a designer and architect who works across the real and virtual.
His world has no boundaries, crossing over fashion, architecture, art, and furniture.
Founded Crosby Studios in New York in 2014, he has been implementing the concept of 'transformism' by freely moving between physical and digital spaces.
The materials he juggles are mostly discarded.
We continue to work to breathe new life into this place.
Harry Nuriyev, who calls himself a "maker of emotions" rather than a designer, space, or exhibitionist, poses questions to us as he crosses the boundaries between use and discard.
"Do we really need more? Or are we ready to empty ourselves?" His question seems to offer a pervasive challenge: how do we want to live?
How do you want to live? I dream of a healthy life, preparing at least one meal a day in my own kitchen.
Because that one meal will ultimately ferment tomorrow's life.
During this long winter, we hope that a warm change will come to your kitchen, your heart, your thoughts, and your tastes.
