Announcement of the 71st Contemporary Literature Award
* 〈Announcement of the 71st Contemporary Literature Award〉 This year's Contemporary Literature Award, which celebrates the 70th anniversary of contemporary literature, achieved the feat of producing winners in three categories: poetry, novels, and criticism.
This year's poetry award, which was the first to be held through a combined preliminary and final round since the award was established, went to Kim Sang-hyeok's "The Rat's Day" and four other pieces, which reflect on the universal consciousness of the vastness of life in reality and show flexibility in the sense of balance between self and others, and between the individual and the world. The novel award went to Im Sol-ah's "A Face a Little Darker Than Love," which, with its calm and restrained style, offers a new sense of the boundaries between life and death, human and non-human, past and present. The criticism award went to Kim Mi-jeong's "How Does Writing Me Become Writing You," which demonstrates the power of criticism that renews one's own voice without relying on someone else's.

* 〈List of Foreign Literature〉 Introducing the novella “A Midsummer’s Death?” (1952) by Yukio Mishima, a master of Japanese aesthetic literature and one of the most problematic writers of post-war Japan.
Inspired by a true story, this work delicately depicts the anxiety, guilt, and recovery of a family left behind by an unfortunate incident that befalls two children under the scorching midsummer sun.

* 〈Essay by Yoo Jong-ho〉 「Second and Third Series - Modern Literature and Me (Part 2)」(86th) This is an article that can be called an 'author's note' about the author's intention to publish and the background of the times, along with episodes leading up to the publication of 『My Before and After Liberation』, 『That Winter and Autumn』, and 『A Foreign Country Called the Past』.
He expressed his thoughts that the response from all walks of life through these works was a source of comfort and a tonic for his old age.
∥Short story - Underage family∥
* 〈Short Story - A Family of Minors〉 (Lee Ki-ho) “Shaving” (40th) After hearing the news of winning the Heo Gyun Literary Award last month, the author recalls his father, who turned the awards ceremony venue into a village festival when he first received the literary award.
Even though he was unconscious, he shaved and prepared to go to the awards ceremony, but he was taken to the emergency room the day before the ceremony.
The author calls the father's extreme love another name for literature.
