Publisher's Review
This is the seventy-fourth magazine [B].

There are people who are called 'global citizens' or 'global nomads'.
These individuals are required to possess foreign language skills, embrace different ideas and cultures without prejudice or preconceptions, and communicate on an individual basis without being bound by collectivism.
Putting aside the grandiose slogan of "global," the attitude I mentioned will become an increasingly important virtue in the future.
In the "hyper-connected era" where 5G and the Internet of Things are on the rise, a sense of belonging to a traditional community is bound to become outdated.

The fact that national sporting competitions like the World Cup and the Olympics no longer have the same impact as before is also a testament to this change.
Because 'hyperconnectivity' begins with establishing relationships as 'micro' entities that transcend physical and social boundaries.
Looking back, it seems that Magazine [B] also worked tirelessly to become a medium that meets these demands.
That is why we tried to create content that was free from the regulations and origins of a Korean magazine.
The fact that 'Korean speakers in Korea are gathering to create this magazine' is a valuable value and identity, but I thought that the content in the magazine should transcend that and be something that everyone can relate to.

Bangkok, which will be introduced as the fifth city issue, is perhaps the place that best fits the keyword of global citizen.
While several megacities dwarf Bangkok in metrics like per capita income, economic scale, and social infrastructure, the city is far ahead when it comes to absorbing diverse cultures and embracing change.
The reviews from our editors, who traveled all over Bangkok for over a week to cover the story, were no different.
There was a lot of praise for Bangkokians who were adept at expressing themselves and sharing their stories, while maintaining a certain level of manners and consideration for others.

In this way, Bangkok not only captivates the hearts of editors visiting for reporting, but also serves as a destination suitable for all types of visitors, including businessmen seeking investment, backpackers staying for a month or more, and short-term travelers seeking relaxation.
This could be interpreted as a way to flexibly respond to various needs while maintaining the city's unique color.

For those who know Bangkok only through clichés like temples, flashy nightlife and nearby resort destinations like Phuket, Magazine [B] wanted to convey this 'attitude' of Bangkok.
While cultural heritage passed down through generations, artistic vision, outstanding commercial sense, and technological prowess are the foundation for creating great brands and cities, attitude signifies future potential.
As social and market uncertainty grows, people tend to believe in visions derived from attitudes rather than objective indicators.
It's easy to understand if you think about the cases of brands that Magazine [B] has introduced so far that focused on selling attitude.
That attitude contains many values.
Like WeWork’s “Do What You Love,” Patagonia’s “Live Simply,” and Vans’ “Off the Wall.”

So how would you summarize Bangkok's attitude? I think "adaptation" is an effective word to describe the city.
Rather than judging right and wrong, good and bad, it is the attitude of an "adapter" who tries, experiences, and adapts to the situation, and who can flexibly change his or her appearance according to the times and environment that has created the multi-layered city of Bangkok.
If this city had only tried to lead and find solutions, we wouldn't have seen the coexistence of six-star hotels run by global corporations and small hostels run as family businesses, and the interesting gap between street food and high-end fine dining restaurants.
After publishing this book, I am willing to keep my eyes and ears open to what is happening in Bangkok.
Because the world of the future may be changed by these conformists.
