The power of routine that makes me strong
Description
Book Introduction
Three Happiness Routines That Will Make You Shine Brighter
How to live each day with excitement and love for myself more
▶ How to find yourself through growth routines
"The Power of Routine That Makes Me Strong" is a growth essay that tells the story of the author, who is in her mid-forties and lives her life with newness every day.
The author, a former elementary school teacher, chose to raise three children instead of the children in her class.
I was happy raising my children, but then I started experiencing housewife burnout.
The author, who no longer wanted to live solely as a mother and housewife, developed herself through three growth routines.
I freed myself from the responsibility and obligation to live as a 'good mother, a good wife.'
She tells people like her not to live like that anymore, 'for the sake of people like herself who sacrificed and made many concessions because they were mothers, but were not able to take good care of themselves.'
Change begins only when the center of gravity in life shifts from family to self.
He tells me to use the passion and energy I pour into my husband and children towards myself.
I'm emphasizing that I absolutely must take the time to find myself, not as someone's mother or wife.
This book is a story about raising oneself and changing oneself as if raising a child.
The know-how of building up your own pace every morning without getting discouraged even if it's slow is well written in detail.
The author says that dawn is the most dense and productive time of day.
This book proves that even ordinary people can grow and advance as long as they are armed with the weapon of consistency.
The author is also a runner of five years.
I started running by chance and fell in love with it, so I've been running consistently for five years.
As I ran consistently every day, the accumulated distance reached 2876km.
He says that tying up his sneakers and stepping out of the house every morning is a way to love himself.
The author wrote about the thrill, excitement, and sense of accomplishment from overcoming pain while running on his blog every day.
When I read those parts, I feel a sense of excitement and happiness, as if I am running along with them.
I want to live a life where I can run and live my daily life like a trip.
Starting the Miracle Morning doesn't mean you'll change overnight.
But for any change to happen, you have to start somewhere.
Even if it's something small, if I start and challenge myself, I can like and respect myself more.
Even small challenges can boost your self-esteem and make you feel special.
You can start by reading one line of a book, writing one line, or doing one squat.
This book tells us that anyone can make meaningful changes by taking small, consistent actions.
The author says that by practicing a consistent growth routine, he has come to love himself more.
If you have something enjoyable that you can do consistently, that alone can add happiness to your life.
When you produce results through consistency, you start to believe in yourself, and that becomes a great asset to you.
Even if it takes a long time, if you have faith that the results will come someday, you can enjoy the process.
The author changed his life through a growth routine that he consistently practiced.
The method is not so special that anyone who reads this book will think, “I can do it too.”
"The Power of Routine to Strengthen Me" is a book that will serve as a friendly guide for those who want to grow happily in their own way.

Into the book
Thanks to these three routines, I achieved one dream and started dreaming another.
As I continued to do the Miracle Morning, my life became a miracle.
Real change in life begins in places unseen.
--- p.15
The routine I followed while doing the Miracle Morning for three years became my daily system.
The dots I took as a daily routine became lines, and those lines came together to form a new side of me as a person.
Doing your routine today doesn't end today.
That point is definitely connected to my future.
If I design my daily life and consistently fill it with good habits, I will be able to live as the master of my daily life and, furthermore, the master of my life.
--- p.39
I feel most like myself when I'm running, reading, and writing.
The feeling is quiet but powerful.
When you feel good about doing something, you tend to keep doing it.
--- p.47
The best way to keep up a routine is to enjoy the act itself.
It's okay if you don't achieve anything great.
The effort and time spent developing a good routine is valuable in itself. --- p.47
When I look at my life carefully to write, I eventually realize that the answer lies within me.
Writing consistently nurtures the seeds of positivity within me. --- p.91
Writing isn't always easy, but I still love the times I spend trying to write.
Through the time I spent writing in the early morning, I learned to love the process, not the result.
--- p.96
It's already been four years since I started running at dawn.
If running was my lover four years ago, running is now my best friend.
When I'm feeling good, when I'm feeling sad, when I'm feeling anxious and depressed, running gives me something to match.
--- p.108
When you are out of breath and tired, if you look at yourself and think, 'I am having a hard time,' that moment will soon pass.
The scenery comes into view again, the music comes into view, and before I know it, I have reached the halfway point and the run is over.
I feel like this process is similar to life.
--- p.119
As you go through the motions between pain and joy, when you complete your goal distance, you feel something beyond joy.
I also feel like the beads of sweat flowing down are saying this.
"You're doing well now!" --- p.119
What you learn and feel with your body, not your head, does not disappear easily.
Because running leaves a good mark on my body and mind, I am running again today and writing down the afterglow.
--- p.120p
In the summer, even a little bit of running makes you sweat like rain.
Heavy rain warnings are issued both inside and outside.
In times like these, it's not a bad idea to make up your mind and sweat.
I really enjoy the moments when I'm drenched in sweat and focusing on my body.
Running is all the more fascinating because of the experience of that one moment, the peak moment. --- p.131
It's fun to see myself going through a variety of emotions while running a marathon.
Running has made me smile and praise myself more.
I began to feel more satisfaction, a sense of accomplishment, and excitement in my daily life.
Running has made me like myself more.
--- p.138
On a sunny and breezy day, take a book in hand and head to an outdoor cafe.
And read! Read freely, at your own pace! You'll feel like a pretty decent person.
--- p.159
Rather than living a life that everyone would envy, I want to live a life that creates happiness based on my own standards.
A successful life isn't just about doing a lot of things, meeting a lot of people, and living a busy life.
--- p.167
After about two years of reading and writing every day, I reached a critical point in my reading.
Even though I freely read books of my own choosing, I experienced internal changes and cracks.
--- p.171
It is honest practice rather than grand resolutions, and a daily reading habit rather than a grand plan that truly changes me.
Change comes not from resolutions but from a process of steadfast persistence. --- p.176
What will I think of myself five years from now? I hope I'll look back with admiration at the life I've lived, the life I've believed in, realized, and decided upon.
I wish you would praise me for getting back up and moving forward steadily even after falling. --- p.188
Running is a living vitamin for my body, and writing is a precious gift for my mind.
I start my day with vitamins and gifts every day.
I am grateful to be able to greet such a calm yet lively morning.
--- p.198
When I don't feel like writing, I start writing with the intention of writing just three lines.
But in reality, I've never written just three lines and finished.
There are days when I don't feel like writing, but when I come to a study cafe and set up a table, I end up writing at least one line.
That one line becomes a paragraph, which becomes a page.
--- p.200
Nothing is fun from the start without putting in some effort.
If you want to find good habits that work for you, there's no other way than to try them yourself.
If you want to live a different life, you have to create different habits.
--- p.207
How about looking at myself with a relaxed and leisurely attitude, just as I gaze at stray cats, flowers, and clear skies? While it may be difficult to change our immediate circumstances, let's remember that we can certainly change our attitude toward life and our perspective on the world and ourselves.
Praise me here and now and put a smile on your face.
Praise, a smile, and a positive attitude will be the beginning of a good vibe that moves me. --- p.213
Through about three years of consistent self-reflection, I discovered another side of myself.
And I began to accept myself as I am.
I don't compare myself to others anymore.
Rather, I focus on my values and good points.
Growing a little bit every day and loving myself more - these are the most important values to me now.
--- p.219
I can become the master of my life with good habits and routines.
Establishing something as a habit and routine requires a certain amount of time and patience, but isn't that what makes it all the more valuable and precious? Because it wasn't achieved easily, it won't crumble overnight.
As I continued to do the Miracle Morning, my life became a miracle.

Publisher's Review
▶ good run, good luck
When I receive comments saying that they felt positive energy from my writing, I feel like my happiness has doubled.
I feel like I've become special just by running at dawn.
I am always grateful to my neighbors who make me feel that way.
Running along the perimeter road, Anyangcheon, and Cheonggyecheon is great, but just running around the neighborhood is also great.
I am grateful for the clear weather without fine dust and the breeze blowing.
As I run through the wind, my body moves forward, and my life moves forward with it.
Just as there is no such thing as running backwards, my life is always moving forward.
Luck comes from movement.
If you stay still, nothing happens.
Running has always brought me good luck.
Today too, I go out the door to accumulate lucky mileage.
▶ Author Interview
1.
What prompted you to write this book?
The reasons I wrote this book were 'blog writing', 'running', and 'reading books'.
After about a year of running every day and being completely absorbed in the fun of blogging, I started to remember a dream I had forgotten about.
That was 'writing a book'.
As I frequently encountered authors who had published books through blogs, I gained a little courage and decided to write a book.
Reading about 200 books over the course of a year also inspired me to write a book.
I really enjoy reading books, and I thought, "Why not try writing about a book I love?" That's one of the reasons I started writing.
2.
What message do you want to emphasize in particular in this book?
The message I want to convey most is that change doesn't happen all at once.
This is something I often want to say to myself.
It is important to build up anything step by step.
It's okay to dream big, but be wary of being impatient.
The more urgent it is, the more you really have to go back.
When I want to run far, I deliberately run slowly.
I start running at my own pace or a little slower, without any effort.
That way you can go all the way.
Just letting go of impatience will change the quality of your life.
A person who moves forward slowly, happily, and steadily can enjoy life.
I hope you don't mind what others think, and move forward at your own pace, one step at a time.
3.
This is the first book by the author of “The Power of Routine to Make Me Strong.”
I'm curious as to why you chose this title.
It's exactly as the title says.
I used to have a glass mentality, but through consistent routines, I became like tempered glass.
It's still glass.
People feel comfortable and their self-esteem is filled when they consistently do something.
By continuing my routine of reading, writing, and running, I regained peace of mind and began to like and accept myself.
I used to be a lonely person, but I've come to enjoy spending time alone.
That part was the biggest change, and I became stronger through the growth routine, so I titled it, “The Power of Routine that Makes Me Stronger.”
4.
Something to say to those who want to become mothers and expectant mothers.
Being a mother is a privilege.
But not many people consider it a privilege.
Even I, until about a year ago, had never really thought much about being a mother or the existence of a mother.
No one knows what my mother does.
If no one knows me, and I don't even know myself, life becomes very depressing.
As I write this book and reflect on the past, I realize that nine years ago, when I raised three children, was a blessing for me.
Children were the most shining time, and it was also the time when I started living a second life, playing around with them.
Even now, when children are in their adolescence, they will look back on it in the distant future and think of it that way.
The younger your child is, the more difficult it may feel for a mother, but this is a time when any changes you make can have a lasting impact on your child.
So, how can I change as a mother? I need to take better care of my mind and emotions.
I need to have some 'me' time, not just with my mom.
Beyond ‘parenting’, it should have its own meaning and fun.
I also recommend writing a ‘parenting diary’.
If I could go back in time, I would write a parenting diary every day and publish it as an e-book or paper book.
Parenting is about raising a child and raising a younger version of myself.
Before looking at the child, I must look at myself first.
When you look at me, embrace me, hold me, look at me with warm eyes, the child will see you that way too.
When my heart becomes soft and strong, I can smile and treat my child.
I see the good in the child.
To a child, parents are the universe.
Parenting isn't a tedious and difficult task; it's an opportunity to create small miracles with your child every day.
Parenting is about creating a new universe with your child.
Is there a life more joyful and fulfilling than watching a child be happy, reflect on their own lives, and grow in the universe with their parents? I hope you and I can all enjoy the privilege of being a mother.
5.
I'm curious about your current interests and what you'd like to do in the future.
My recent interest is creating a YouTube channel.
I want to make a YouTube channel with running videos.
I also take videos while running along the Han River.
I plan to create a YouTube channel that conveys positive messages through videos.
My second interest is writing my next book.
As I was writing my first book, I felt the charm of writing.
I wanted to write a book about each of the three growth routines.
The title has already been decided.
I've been thinking about publishing a series called "The Power of Running: Strengthening Me," "The Power of Writing: Strengthening Me," and "The Power of Reading: Strengthening Me." It would take quite a while, right? Still, I'd love to try.
Thirdly, I would like to coach people who, like me, have found it difficult to write a book.
I think you will feel a great sense of pride and excitement if you do this work.
I think I will grow a lot in other areas besides writing books.
Writing more in-depth books, coaching book writers, and creating a YouTube channel about running are some of my current interests and future aspirations.

I hope you don't mind what others think, and move forward at your own pace, one step at a time.
