Key References

Into the book
The word 'rifle' is not originally a name for a type of gun, but rather refers to several rows of grooves installed inside the gun barrel that form a gentle spiral that barely makes one full turn, depending on the length of the gun barrel.
In Chinese characters, this is called '강선(腔線/腔?)'.
--- p.20

The word grenade is originally French and refers to a type of fruit called 'pomegranate'.
Although matchlock guns were invented hundreds of years ago, they were not yet widely used, and infantrymen used to form close formations with pikes. They started by throwing iron balls the size of pomegranates filled with gunpowder.
So even in modern times, hand grenades are called hand grenades in English.
--- p.36

When we talk about guns, we inevitably come across a lot of information from the United States.
But if you look at that information, regardless of whether it's a gun, car, or airplane, the units of length are inches, feet, and yards.
Distance is measured in miles, weight in ounces or pounds, and volume in quarts and gallons, units that are not used anywhere else in the world.
Only in the US (although some people in the UK still use it in the private sector).
In fact, all countries in the world are supposed to use the metric system (or more precisely, the SI units that developed from the metric system), and even the U.S. government uses units such as kg and mm in official documents.
So, the caliber that was previously called '.30 inch' is now called '7.62mm'.

Publisher's Review
It is instinctive to be drawn to guns,
Wanting to know about guns is intellectual curiosity.

A researcher from the Self-Defense Forces Weapons Supply Center explains!
The 'Total Bible' that will satisfy your intellectual curiosity!

For millions of years, humans have been hunting for weapons that have a longer range, more power, and more accuracy.
This long-standing desire, which is like an instinct of mankind, began to be satisfied only with the invention of firearms.
As guns and cannons became used in warfare, developing better firearms became a matter of national survival.
Firearms are the essence of wisdom that engineers from each country have developed with their heart and soul, risking the fate of their country.

The development of firearms also changed the social structure.
The need for better mining and metallurgical techniques led to advances in industrial technology, and the need for smarter soldiers also provided an educational environment for the general population.
As the military power of the nation became the responsibility of the entire population, not just knights or warriors, no one could be ruled or exploited like livestock, and this is where democratic society emerged.
In other words, guns are the mother of modern civilization and the source of democracy! … Therefore, it is only natural that guns make your heart beat.
The curiosity to 'know more about guns' and 'explore' is the driving force behind progress.
This is exactly why this book was written!

This book systematically explains almost all knowledge about guns, from structure to shooting techniques.
It is also rich in photos and illustrations that will help you understand and add to the enjoyment of reading.
I hope this book, which is like a 'total bible', will satisfy someone's instinctive curiosity and lead to further progress!
