많은 학생들이 TOPIK 시험을 준비하는 데에 어려움을 겪고 있는데, 저자는 그 이유는 다음과 같이 설명한다.
중급 TOPIK을 준비하기 위해 꼭 알아야 할 어휘 목록이나 학생 스스로 효율적으로 공부할 만한 TOPIK 어휘 대비서가 없다는 것이다.
이 책은 이러한 어려움을 해결하고자 TOPIK을 준비하는 데에 꼭 필요한 어휘 목록을 선정하고, 학습자가 쉽게 공부해 나갈 수 있도록 이를 알기 쉽게 정리했다.

이를 위해 지금까지의 TOPIK 기출문제를 분석해서 자주 출제되는 가장 빈도가 높은 어휘를 선정했다.
그 다음 선정된 어휘를 학습자들이 30일이라는 짧은 시간 안에 모두 공부할 수 있도록 30일 분량으로 나누어 제시했다.
또, 하나의 어휘를 제시하면 그와 관련된 어휘를 함께 제시하여 실제 시험에 더 잘 대처할 수 있도록 구성하였다.
그리고 자신이 알고 있는 단어를 체크하는 코너와 어휘 공부 후 확인하는 코너를 통해 책에 실린 어휘를 완전히 학습자의 것으로 만들 수 있도록 하였다.
또 자주 출제되는 핵심 사동사, 피동사, 속담 및 관용표현을 별도로 수록한 부록도 제공한다.

It is suitably organized for learners to easily acquire new words that frequently appear on TOPIK and make them able to check their improved capability by solving the review questions.

Many students have trouble preparing for the TOPIK.
It is because of the following reasons.
First, a textbook that contains a list of required words to prepare for the TOPIK- intermediate level does not exist.
Also, there is no textbook that helps students study effectively by themselves.
In order to solve these problems, this book has selected the words that must be acquired before taking test, and made a list to help students to easily proceed on their learning.

After closely analyzing questions from the past TOPIK exam, we have selected the words that have most frequently appeared on the test.
Then, we have organized these words into a 30 day curriculum and made it possible for the students to go over these words in 30 days.
Moreover, the related word for every word is also attached together so that it can help students to better prepare for the test.
Also, we provide a section where students can review the words that they know and can check their comprehension.
